SDM College of Education is affiliated college at Ujire, Belthangady Taluk, Dakshina Kannada District was started in the year 2007. It is here that The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) accredited institution offers education in teacher education programs. Situated on a sprawling 10.43-acre campus, the college offers two full-time courses: 50 relevant and interested students are enrolled in B.Ed and D.Ed programmes. SDM College of Education is a small institution where 99 students and 7 members are a part of faculty.

There is a verity of facilities in SDM College of Education that provides an added advantage to the learning ability of the students.. Computerised library facility is available as study resource centre and the institution has different hostel facilities for males and females. The campus includes readily available various facilties of modern IT, so students are equipped with up-to-date tools. As for physical fitness and leisure, there are a gym and different sport complexes. The college also has an auditorium for functions and seminars in order to enhance the life on campus. SDM College of Education offers two primary courses: These are a two-year full-time B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) programme and a two-year full-time D.Ed (Diploma in Education) programme. Both courses have an approved cohort size of 50 students but a total of 100 students across all programme.

The admission criteria applied at SDM College of Education are on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examination and entrance test. B.Ed programme, particularly the admission process, have been determined by the state government/UT administration as well as the university. Likewise, the admission policy of the D.Ed programme remains the same as what the State Government/UT Administration allows.
