About Shailabala Women's College, Cuttack
SWC, Cuttack was established in 1913. The institution is a government university affiliated to Rama Devi Women's University, Bhubaneswar. Shailabala, was in the forefront of a movement for women’s uplift. She was a member of the Board of Education, constituted by the Government of Bihar and Orissa in 1912, to look into the problems of education in Orissa. The college offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
The SWC, Cuttack UG courses include BA(Hons), BA, B.Sc(Hons), B.Sc, B.Com(Hons) in various different subjects and B.Ed. Admissions are offered to candidates who must have passed class 12th from a recognized board with 45% in the subject in which one desires to take up. All the courses are offered in full time mode only.
The institution also provides postgraduate courses to the students. SWC, Cuttack PG courses include M.phil and MA in different subjects. Students who are aspiring PG admissions need to have passed Bachelor degree of 3 years duration (B.A. or equivalent) under 10+2+3 pattern from any recognized university.The college also offers various facilities to the students. SWC, Cuttack facilities include well-stocked libraries, modern classrooms, sports facilities, medical facilities and many more.

College Infrastructure
The infrastructure is not quite good and the facility is average I can say and the equipments are used by so many peoples that is often become of no use for other students and its quite being old also so the overall structure of my college is not satisfactory.

The campus was very broad yet old considering its a government campus. It didn’t have much inside campus to engage students. It had a library and various classrooms and that’s it. The cafeteria was never functional. Each subject had it own individual building.

The hostel infrastructure was not so good. The mess food was not so satisfying.The library was excellent and all books were available.Our labs were good and you could learn all the technologies. Overall the infrastructure is very nice.
