The Shivalik Institute of Management Education and Research (SIMER) is a noted independent institution located in Durg, Chhattisgarh. It is popular for, among other things, choosing the best candidates for Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). SIMER has a process for admission that is thorough, open, and preset. This process for entry into SIMER is extensive and has a combination of other factors that give a very robust dimension to the intake of students. The admission cycles at SIMER generally go with the academic year and begin around August-September.
SIMER accepts the scores of various national-level entrance examinations for admission into its PGDM programme. They include:

2. Management Aptitude Test (MAT)
3. AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA)

Application Process
Below are the steps in the application process as followed by SIMER Durg PGDM:
1. Entrance Exams Registration: This is the first and foremost step that a candidate needs to take to register him/herself and appear for any one of the accepted entrance exams, namely, CAT, MAT, ATMA, and XAT. Every entrance exam will have its own registration guidelines and deadlines, which need to be strictly followed by a candidate.

Degree-wise Admission Process
PGDM: SIMER offers a full-time PGDM program with 60 admissions per academic year. The admission procedure for the PGDM consists of several steps:
1. Entrance Examination: Candidates must sit for one of the accepted national-level entrance examinations. This would be either CAT, MAT, ATMA, or XAT.
2. Shortlisting: Based on the scores in these entrance exams, the candidates are shortlisted to the next round.
3. Group Discussion/Personal Interviews: Shortlisted candidates are invited to undertake Group Discussions and Personal Interviews in Bhilai and adjoining regional centers.
4. Final Selection: Candidates will be selected on an overall evaluation of the profile of a candidate as per the academic background and work experience (if any), performance in entrance tests, and group discussions/personal interview.
