Sirda Polytechnic, Mandi: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Sirda Polytechnic, Mandi, which was started in the year 2009, is one of the affiliated college situated in Sundernagar, District Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. This AICTE and PCI accredited institution offers diploma programmes under all the conceivable disciplines of engineering. Sirda Polytechnic is an advanced educational institute providing technical education to young engineers situated in a campus of fifteen acres of land. The college has a balanced faculty of 45 members who are available to teach9 courses in 1 degree programme. 

Sirda Polytechnic has several facilities in order to improve education delivery and students’ welfare. The main central library is well equipped with more than 3,400 books are available in text books, reference books as well as national and international journals. Students can use the library’s numerous reading halls which can comfortably accommodate up to 150 readers at a time. It has fully furnished and technologically advanced laboratory and workshops, including major technical disciplines on the campus.

The college provides hostels for boys and girls separately to provide all comfort to students, residential facilities with students’ amenities and common areas that include activity area, a gymnasium, common room etc. The wireless internet connectivity available all over the campus improves research and online learning. Sirda Polytechnic also values a student’s health, besides providing study and computer amenities the institution also features a number of sporting facilities such as badminton, volleyball, basketball, and a gym.

Sirda Polytechnic, Mandi consists of 9 diploma courses that are offered as full time. Engineering disciplines offered in the institute are Electronics and Communication, Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science, Automobile, Electrical and Electronics and Agriculture Engineering. Also, diploma programmes are provided in college in pharmacy (D.Pharma) Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT). The total approved intake across all courses is 430 seats thus good student-faculty ratio that means improved learning environment and individual attention paid to each learner.

The admission to Sirda Polytechnic, Mandi is mainly through Himachal Pradesh Polytechnic Admission Test (HP PAT) Conducted by H.P. Takniki Shiksha Board Dharamshala. The admission to all the diploma courses is under the Directorate of Technical Education DTE Sundernagar. It also has to mention that applicants have to pass the PAT, and only those pupils who show good results on this test get the right to become students of the university. Fresh students are admitted through a spot placement system that continues to encourage the deserving candidates to be awarded a chance to enrol to the respective courses offered in the institute.
