Smt. Jawala Devi College of Education, Fatehgarh Sahib, has an illustrious name in co-educational institutions in Punjab for teacher training. 7. Counseling and Admission: Selected candidates are called for counseling to complete the admission process through document verification and fee payment.

8. Orientation: Finally admitted candidates are subjected to an orientation program, where they describe the college, infrastructure, and its details about the course chosen.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): Smt. Jawala Devi College of Education has sanctioned a total intake of 100 for its B.Ed program. The procedure for admission into the B.Ed course shall be under merit based on marks secured at the qualifying examination and/or entrance test in accordance with the admission policies of the state government, the UT Administration, and the concerned university. Only those candidates who have completed graduation or post-graduation along with the relevant subject are applicable to apply for the B.Ed program.

M.Ed (Master's of Education): The M.Ed program has an intake of 50 seats, and admissions are done purely on merit. Selection for merit inclusion will be wholly based on marks achieved at the qualifying examination, being typically a B.Ed. However, performance in entrance examinations or any other selection process as per the policy of the state government, university, or UT Administration might also be considered. The M.Ed program aims to train candidates intending to pursue a career in education and research.

D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education): The intake of the D.El.Ed. program in Smt. Jawala Devi College of Education is 50. The admission process for this course is purely based on merit with the percentage of qualifying examination and/or entrance test marks considered. The program gets admission through the admission policy of the state government or UT Administration. The D.El.Ed aims to develop skills in those intending to be primary school teachers.
