Smt Sakarbai K Somaiya Junior College of Education, Mumbai, is an autonomous private college for teacher education. , this co-educational institution came into existence in 1962 and is located in the midst of Vidyavihar, Mumbai, situated in a 50 acres of land. The college is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and has a two year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) course. Built with a total student intake capacity of 144 and faculty strength of 13, the institute provides proper and meaningful education to the students who aspire of becoming art or craft teachers.

The college has put up complicated structures to support and complement the learning of students in the college. The house journal contains more than 19625 books in Marathi, Hindi, and English teaching aids as well as literature. As a college practical teaching facilities include science laboratory with all necessary equipments required for D.El.Ed syllabus.
