Sree Narayana College, Thrissur Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

Sree Narayana College has a permanent separate hostel building for the accommodation of girl students on the campus. The Ladies’ Hostel was built with UGC assistance availed of during the X Plan. Situated in a serene atmosphere, the Hostel can provide the students with a calm and peaceful living, which is a prerequisite for serious academic contemplation. It can accommodate 75 students at a time.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The college has a Gym facility for all the students.

The central library is housed in a separate block of 6000 sq ft behind the main building on the campus. It has an automated service system managed by software LIBSOFT. It has a collection of over 46082 books. There are four main sections in the library: the Periodical section, a Reference section, the Stack room, and the Reading room.

The college has sports facilities for all students.

The college is well equipped with 120 computers with sufficient lab facilities. Most systems are networked with LAN computing. Most Computers have licensed software and broadband internet facility with, firewalls. Two windows 2008 servers are the backbone of our computer labs. The computer labs are helpful to the students to work beyond their college working hours. All department computer labs come under the supervision of the meter computer center. Many LCD and OHP projectors are used in the departments for effective teaching. The computer offers training in MS Office for interested final UG students. The College Canteen provides vegetarian and non-vegetarian food to the staff and students at a reasonable price. The canteen committee monitors the activities in the canteen and makes suggestions for improvement.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has the Alumni Association of college was officially formed in 1993, though the college started functioning in 1967. However, meters one with a constitution started functioning in the academic year 2002-03. The Association conducted its first Alumni meet on 14.12.2003 in which all the hitherto teaching and non-teaching staff of the college participated. It was a great success. The meet was inaugurated by the French Theatre Artist Milena Salvini and attended by prominent political and cultural leaders. At present, the association, though in its infancy, has 103 life members and 411 ordinary members. The membership campaign is going on and the proposals to build a library and seminar complex for the college are on their way. Nattika Sree Narayana College Alumni Association has various chapters in different countries such as UAE, Qatari, and Doha.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The Store provides stationery items for the students and the staff. Prescribed textbooks are distributed through the Co-operative Store at a concessional rate. The Co-operative Store functions during office hours on all working days.
