Sree Narayana Guru College of Engineering and Technology (SNGCET), Kannur was started in 2003, which is well known engineering college in Kerala state. This affiliated college recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) offers spate under graduate and post graduate in engineering disciplines. Set in an exuberant 50 acre complex, SNGCET Kannur has a total student capacity of 485 and a faculty of 66 members. The college offers seven courses over two degrees level with major interest in different engineering fields like Mechanical, Computer Science, Civil, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Sree Narayana Guru College of Engineering and Technology aims to offer wired facilities to supplement the learning outcome of its learners. SNGCET Kannur has established a strong IT facility: more than 400 computers with high technical programmes are available to the students. The central library is the one on knowledge serving a strength of 22,245 volumes and 6,607 titles, and 6 international and 55 national journals. Labs in the college are a plus as the students get practical experience using...modern engineering equipment as offered in the respective fields.

SNGCET Kannur has a total of 8 programmes in which it deals with 5 B.Tech and 2 M.Tech courses. All undergraduate course offerings are full time, four year programmes On the other hand, all post graduate courses are also full time and take two years to complete. Total number of intake approved for the all the courses is 276 seats. The B.Tech programmes offered are Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Electronics and Communication Engineering. At the post graduate level the college offers M.Tech in Computer Aided Structural Engineering and Thermal and Fluid Mechanics Engineering.

SNGCET Kannur follows the KEAM for admission of the undergraduate programmes it offers primarily depends on the KEAM scores. For postgraduate courses the college looks into the Graduate Aptitude Test scores in Engineering (GATE). This institute, therefore, uses a strict procedure in selecting people in order to give a chance to all those who would otherwise not be afforded an opportunity to study engineering. Yet, no exact dates as to when admissions are open are given, but a candidate should ideally follow the KEAM and the GATE examination timetables as the two are critical to the entire admission process.
