Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Arts and Science College for Women, Chennai Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a library facility that is well equipped with more than 10,000 Volumes of books, journals, newspapers, magazines, audio, and video library along with reading facilities for the benefit of the students and faculty. Our Library is fully air-conditioned and computerized with AUTOLIB software. AUTO LAB can be accessed from a Remote distance through College Website “Access to E-Library”. Patrons can search the list of documents (Books, Journals), Access E-Resources, and know the Circulation details (Issue, Return, and Reservation). Remote Access service can be used only during SKP College Library Functions/Working time. The library also has an internet facility, available free of cost to the students.

The college has an open spacious area available within the campus premises to enhance the participation of the student community in various sports activities and thereby shape their physical development. Indoor games: Chess, Carom, Badminton and Table tennis. Outdoor games: Cricket, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Handball, Throwball, Kho-Kho, Basketball, Ball Badminton, Athletics, and Football. Professional coaches are arranged for games like-Kabbadi, Volley Ball, Cricket, Kho-kho, Basket Ball.

The College Canteen is functioning to serve hygienically prepared quality food to the staff and students. Students can easily refresh themselves by having a variety of snacks and meals. Two canteens are available to provide traditional South Indian food as well as North Indian food at reasonable rates.

The college has an auditorium that is a place where all the activities and functions like National conferences, intercollegiate events, fresher’s day function, union inauguration, etc., take place. Our college auditorium has state of art audio-visual equipment it promises to make events unforgettable.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students. The digital lab has 50 Microprocessor kits and 50 Digital logic circuit kits for the students to practically understand the subjects. Psychology has a well-furnished practical lab, which has exclusive materials and equipment to facilitate the student's laboratory work. Language lab helps to enhance the language skills of the students

The college has computer labs that are fully equipped with systems and the latest software with an environment to implement and experiment with knowledge acquired in the classroom. All the systems have internet facilities.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students. As the College Management has the responsibility for the safeguarding of the students, they have introduced the Insurance Scheme to all the students, Teaching and Non-teaching Staff. We have taken the Accident and Medical policy for them with a renowned Insurance Company. These are very good schemes and many students have benefited. The medical expenses incurred by them have been reimbursed by the Insurance Company. This insurance scheme has been appreciated by the parents. Apart from this, a Health card has also been issued to all the students, Teaching and Non-teaching Staff.
