Sriram Engineering College, Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu, was founded in 1993 and can be regarded as one of the best engineering colleges in India. This institution has an affiliation with the AICTE and offers a wide array of engineering courses for students across 35.7 acres of land. SEC intakes a total of 373 students and has a faculty of 57, enabling the institution to produce quality education. The college teaches 10 programmes across 2 levels of degree and focuses on engineering disciplines. School enrolment at SEC is almost equal, with 79 percent male students and 21 percent female students, mainly focusing on its service for undergraduate courses. That the institution has embraced technical education is seen from its diverse courses and well-equipped physical infrastructure.
SEC boasts of well-facilitated infrastructure compounded with the aim of improving and facilitating the learning process of the students. The college provides accommodation separately to boys and girls, with each having the capacity of housing 250 students. These hostels have some facilities and amenities, such as good accommodation in the rooms and the provision of a gym. The campus has a central library that will act as an information centre with an adequate stock of books, magazines, journals, and online facilities.
Indeed, SEC provides its visitors/recreational facilities for indoor games such as chess, carrom, and table tennis as well as for outdoor games such as football, hockey, and cricket. The college also employs an ambulance service for 24 hours and has a doctor who revisits the college in case of an emergency. The cafeteria has 3900 sq. m. and separate dining areas for staff and students. Students can also enjoy delicious and healthy meals based on university policies. The college’s IT facilities facilitate today’s styles of learning; the fully air-conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of one thousand, two hundred persons provides for diverse academic as well as culturally based activities.
Sriram Engineering College has a blend and variety of courses that give the academics good coverage, with a total of 10 courses. These consist of 8 UG programmes and 2 PG programmes, and all the programmes offered are full-time programmes. The college’s total approved capacity of enrolment is three hundred seventy-three students for all its programmes. The mentioned courses that can be offered by SEC include various specialised areas of engineering as relevant to the current market trends of demand within the industry and the technological revolution.
Sriram Engineering College has come out with a fair and very efficient system of admission. As for the undergraduate programmes, the college predominantly enrols students for which examination: Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admission Post Graduate (CEETA-PG). This examination is a pass that determines who will attend the SEC programme to pursue a dream of becoming an engineer. The college also takes into account other entrance examinations for admission. SEC continues to assist deserving students and there were 57 undergraduate students who were either reimbursed or given scholarships in the most recent academic year.
This commitment to financial aid helps make it possible for as many students with raw talent and the desire to be engineers to achieve their dream no matter their financial status. Although there are some trends as to when particular programmes are expecting applicants, it is recommended to refer to the college’s website or directly to the admissions committee to get the most accurate information. The SEC Alumni Association was launched in 1994 to serve as a platform to guide learners in charge of placement activities, being a good example of a college that is in touch with industries and has the proof of its learners’ success globally.
