St Aloysius College, Alappuzha Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

One of the eminent colleges at Edathua, Kerala-St. Aloysius College, Alappuzha-offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in almost every subject.

Admission for undergraduate programs of the college is mainly through the UGCAP (Unified Graduate Common Admission Process), of the University of Kerala for admission processes. The UGCAP is an admission platform that is opened for admissions in universities and colleges around the country and it also ensures transparency for and fairness to the entire selection process. There are several UG programs in the discipline of Arts, Sciences, and Commerce.

The postgraduate admissions for courses such as M.Com, M.Sc., and M.A. are conducted through the Postgraduate Common Admission Process (PGCAP) of the University of Kerala.

Application Process

Different modes are adopted by St. Aloysius College on the basis of the particular level of each application:

For Undergraduate Programs (B.Com, BA, B.Sc):

1. Register at the official UGCAP portal of the University of Kerala.
2. Fill out the online registration form stating true personal and academic details.
3. Upload all required documents, viz., mark sheets of 10+2, transfer certificate, and other relevant certificates.
4. Payment of application fee as prescribed by the university.
5. Select St. Aloysius College and preferred courses in the college preference list.
6. Wait for the allotment results based on merit and reservation criteria.
7. Report to St. Aloysius College if seat allotment is done for verification and confirmation of admission.

For postgraduate programs (M.Com, M.Sc., MA):

1. Register on the official PGCAP portal of the University of Kerala.
2. Fill form with proper details.
3. Upload important documents which include the undergraduate degree certificates and mark sheets.
4. Pay the application fee required.
5. Select St. Aloysius College and desired PG courses in the preference list.
6. Wait for allotment results based on academic merit and other criteria.
7. If they are on the list, come to St. Aloysius College for document officiation and completion of admission.

For Ph.D. Programs:

1. Look at the college website or keep in touch with the respective departments for specific announcements related to their Ph.D. admissions.
2. Apply as per the guidelines given by the University of Kerala for admission in Ph.D.
3. Submit the research proposals and other documents required by the department as mentioned.
4. Undergo the entrance test and/or interview depending on the criteria for the selection.

Degree Wise Admission Process

B.Com: The college offers B.Com Computer Applications (Self-Financed) and B.Com Finance & Taxation programs. The admission procedure followed in the college will be as per UGCAP. The sanctioned strength of the B.Com Computer Applications program is 150 Seats, and for B.Com Finance & Taxation, it is 66 Seats.

Bachelor of Arts: The college offers two BA programs in Economics and English. Admission to the two programs is also through UGCAP, with 60 seats for BA Economics and 24 BA English.

B.Sc.: Under the various B.Sc. Programs, Mathematics-40 seats, Physics-32 seats, Electronics Equipment Maintenance-Self Finance-30 seats, Zoology (Model Aquaculture)-24 seats, and Chemistry-20 seats. The admission for the above B.Sc. programs will be made through UGCAP.

M.Com: The institute now has an M.Com course in Finance with 18 seats. Admission is through PGCAP.

M.Sc.: The postgraduate components in Sciences are M.Sc. Zoology (Self-Finance-14-seats), Mathematics (10-seats) and Physics (10-seats). All these M.Sc. Programmes shall have admissions through PGCAP.

MA: MA English (Self-Finance) with 12 seats and MA Development Economics are also offered at the college. The admission for the MA programs will follow PGCAP.

Ph.D.: At St. Aloysius College, there are also Ph.D. programs in Commerce and Physics. Any additional conditions as stipulated by the university and the respective departments may apply for admission into the Ph.D. programs.

Though there are many lists of documents for admissions, a minimum of the following documents is ordinarily required:

• 10th and 12th standard mark sheets.
• Transfer Certificate.
• Migration Certificate (if applicable).
• Caste/ Community Certificate (usually required for reserved categories).
• Income Certificate (if applying for fee concessions).
• Physically Handicapped Certificate (if applicable).
• Those with NCC/NSS/Sports Certificates are eligible for the respective quota.
