Master of Computer Applications is a two-year full-time course offered by Mangalore University, Mangalore and approved by All India Council for Technical Education.


Eligibility Criteria

A candidate who has passed any recognized undergraduate examination or equivalent examination with Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science or Computer Applications or Computer Programming or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MCA courses. 45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST, and Category-I of Karnataka candidates.

 

Provided that in respect of candidate who has studied and passed one of the subjects specified above in Pre-University Course with fifty percent of marks in that subject shall also be considered for admission. 45% of marks in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates.

 

MCA Lateral Entry 2 Years

 

A candidate who has passed recognised Bachelor’s Degree of minimum of 3 years duration examination in BCA, B.Sc (I.T. / Computer Science) with Mathematics at 10 + 2 level or at Graduate Level and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MCA courses (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates) (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates).

Admission Details

  • Admission to MCA programme for Karnataka candidates is made based on either PGCET conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) and also for Karnataka and Non-Karnataka candidates through PGCET / KMAT conducted by Karnataka Unaided Private Colleges Association Authority.
  • The minimum percentage in eligibility examination for admission in MCA programme is 50% in case of GM and 45% in case of SC / ST.
  • The Admission process for MCA programme is followed as per the Government of Karnataka norms which consists of 50% through PGCET (KEA) entrance examination and 50% through KMAT / PGCET.
  • There is a provision for Lateral Entry of 20% of Intake through KEA counseling.
