St. Ann's Engineering College was established in 2001 located in Chirala, Andhra Pradesh, affiliated with a campus covering 6.96 acres. The college has also been accredited by NAAC and approved by AICTE. SACET has 19 courses in 5 degrees with a total student intake of 3,142 and a faculty strength of 217. There are many modern facilities in the college to make student life easier. It covers an area of 922.33 sq.m. and is fully computerised with an automated system, following the Dewey Decimal Classification for easy access to the resources. SACET boasts of the IT infrastructure consisting of Intel Core2 Duo computers and a 20KVA UPS system. This campus is Wi-Fi enabled, which is unique in the Prakasam district. For the physical well-being of the students, there is a gym and extensive sports facilities, including a large playground for cricket, hockey, football, and basketball. The college has also organised various tournaments and a "Sports Utsav" for fostering athletic participation.
Academic programmes at SACET widely vary, though the stronger focus is always kept on engineering and management. The institute offers 21 courses, all of which are full-time programmes. Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering make up the four B.Tech programmes that form the core of all offerings from the institute. The other courses that SACET offers include an MBA programme and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. The total approved intake for these courses is appreciable: 240 in B.Tech in Electronics and Communications Engineering, 180 in Computer Science Engineering, and 120 each in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
The entrance-based admission is mainly for the St. Ann's Engineering College. This institute considers the scores of a few of the state level examinations considered here – the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) in the case of the B.Tech programmes; the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP PGECET) in the case of the postgraduate engineering programmes, and the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test (APICET) for the MBA entries. Typically, these exams will be conducted months before every academic year with the results declared and counseling sessions conducted soon after.
The concern for education from SACET does not stop at academics by any measure, SACET has the provision for other types of facilities, which makes life on campus as comfortable and richer as possible. These include separate boys' and girls' hostels, a health care centre where medical assistance runs round the clock, and a well-established fleet of over thirty buses for the convenience of the day scholars coming from different parts of the town.
