St. Ann's Engineering College (SACET), Chirala, is known for its engineering and management education courses. The college has set admission procedures whereby it endeavors to admit academically deserving candidates into several undergraduate and postgraduate programs. It is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada, and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Admissions to the SACET take place mainly in the months of May and June, while academic activities extend from August to September. The admission procedures include an Andhra Pradesh State-Mandated entrance mode for consideration for admission into various programs. For the undergraduate engineering programs, admission seat allocation is made based on the rank achieved by the candidate in the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET). Candidates wishing to be admitted to postgraduate engineering programs have to attain a rank in the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP PGECET). Admission to the MBA program is based on Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test (APICET) ranks.

The basic eligibility criteria for the B.Tech programs are the candidates' 10+2 examination from any recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. A minimum of 50 % aggregate marks in the qualifying examination is a must for a candidate to fit in the eligibility criteria. Masters programs require the candidate to have completed his/her Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.

For Admission in Diploma Programs

1. Qualify in AP POLYCET examination.
2. Participate in AP POLYCET counseling.
3. Select SACET and preferred diploma during counseling.
4. Complete admission formalities at SACET if the seat is allotted.

Degree Wise Admission Process

B.Tech: Admission into B.Tech programs in SACET is based mainly on the performance of the candidate in the AP EAMCET. There are various streams in B.Tech at SACET, which are as follows: Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. The counseling process for the admissions shall be conducted by the AP EAMCET convenor, and during counseling, seats will be allotted to the candidates according to their rank and availability.

M.Tech: The M.Tech programs offered in the SACET are Computer Science and Engineering, Embedded Systems, Power Systems, and Thermal Engineering. The admission is strictly on the basis of the AP PGECET scores with counseling. Only candidates who have completed their B.E/B.Tech or equivalent degree in the relevant field can apply for the M.Tech courses.

MBA: The admission requirements for the MBA program at SACET include scoring well in the APICET. The candidate's APICET rank is used during the counseling. The candidates must possess a graduation degree from any discipline.

The Diploma programs offered by SACET in various engineering streams are based on the AP POLYCET. Candidates who have completed SSC/X standard can apply for the Diploma courses.
