St. Mary’s College of Education and Research Institute is a well recognised college established in the year 2002 in Kancheepuram Tamil Nadu India. Can be described as a coeducational college founded in 2007 which has been preparing this generation of educators for more than ten years. The institute is located in a small piece of land of 2.6 acres; therefore it provides its students a concentrated environment in which to learn. For a total student population of 100 students and a faculty population of 8 persons, the intimacy of academic environment is highly cherished inasmuch as the extent of interaction the students and the faculty members have within their college.

St. Mary’s College of Education and Research Institute is proud to have a number of amenities that would otherwise improve the learning achievement of the students. One particular that is evident is the college has a well stocked up library that is core to every institution of learning, this is an essential aspect as the college prepares the aspiring educators. In order to encourage pragmatical acquaintance different obligatory and elective departmental laboratories are used to familiarise students with different educational implementing methods. The campus also comprises of an auditorium, especially important for educational seminars, and events whereby the university seeks to widen the students’ horizon. At present, St. Mary’s College of Education and Research Institute has only one full time course – The B.Ed Programme. This two-year programme gives an approved intake capacity of one hundred seats and best captures the institutes desire to provide quality education in a compact class. This courses is aimed at preparing the student who intends to teach at the secondary level with adequate knowledge, skills and practical experiences.

Administration and the university affiliation. Student screening can be done through the qualifying examination, a certain aptitude test, or even the entrance examination.
