St Philomena College, Puttur Facilities

St. Philomena College, Puttur has the facilities of the hostel for boys and girls. Other facilities include auditorium, library, sports, auditorium and cafeteria. The details of these activities are given below:

Auditorium: "Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall’" can accommodate 1000 people. It is suitable for conferences, symposia, meetings, seminars, concerts, presentations and performances.

Hostel: St. Philomena College, Puttur provides separate hostels to boys and girls. All the hostels are provided with internet and WiFi facilities. The hostels also have a mess facility available which serves quality food to students. Other facilities like water purifiers, yoga, gym etc are also provided to students.

Library: The College has a well-managed library system to enrich the student’s community with a wide range of academic resources such as books, periodicals, online periodicals, databases, back volumes, CDs/DVDs, project reports, audio/video cassettes, and question bank. Online public access catalogue (OPAC) facility is available to facilitate the online search of the library books with title, author, keyword and subject.

Computer Centre: The centre is equipped with the latest instruments, computers, servers, as well as most modern software required to instruct the students and carry out prescribed practical hours to complement classroom learning.

Sports: The college has indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Indoor games like carrom, table tennis, chess are available in the hostel. The college has a well-furnished handball, volleyball and badminton court.

Cafeteria: The canteen has a dining facility and serves vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine, soft drinks, fresh juices, snacks are light snacks. The canteen is well-planned and functions inside the campus to cater to quality food and soft beverages for the students and staff on all working days.

Boys Hostel
Hostel Facilities for Boys, well-furnished buildings facilitated with the quality food supply, reading rooms, dining hall, recreation room, prayer hall and indoor games support.
Girls Hostel
Hostel Facilities for Girls, well-furnished buildings facilitated with the quality food supply, reading rooms, dining hall, recreation room, prayer hall and indoor games support.
Gym
To enhance the physical ¡tness of the students, a well equipped and well maintained eight-station Multigym facility is available in the College. It is equipped with most of the weight-lifting, powerlifting, bodybuilding tools. The physical director, senior sports person of the College and coaches from outside train the students.
Library
A good Library with latest books, periodicals, journals, newspapers and OPAC and Internet facility.
Sports
The college is well known not only for its excellent record in the academic activities but also for the magni¡cent performance in the sports and games ¡elds. In addition to the extensive and well maintained 400 mtr track sports field, the College has fields for Hockey, Football, and Cricket, courts for Volleyball, Tennis, Kabaddi, Badminton, Basket Ball, Throw Ball, and Kho-Kho. Facilities for the indoor games like Table Tennis, Chess and Carom are available in the Hostels. We have a very good collection of sports and games equipment that serve the need of the internal sports personnel as well as the needy public.
I.T Infrastructure
It is the biggest of its kind in the region with complete up-to-date infrastructure. It offers various part of Diploma and certificate course in computer application. It is equipped with spacious Laboratories with more than 200 computers of various configuration, power generator, UPS systems and Novel, Linux and Windows 2000 network environment with the latest software. It also has an Internet Browsing section.
Cafeteria
The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.
Auditorium
The specious auditorium is used by the students, clubs, and associations of the college for co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The auditorium is also used by various voluntary Organizations to organize social awareness or bene¡cial programmes.
Alumni Associations
The college has a good networking for alumni association.
Laboratories
The college has departmental based laboratories facility for the students. Separate Laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology.
Banks/ATMs
The College is privileged to have an Independent Branch of Corporation Bank in the Campus.

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure and the teaching faculty are amazing Also they support us for extra curricular activities and have very supportive staff and good friendly environment also have smart class, library, laboratory and hostel facilities also have a cafeteria.
