The St. Soldier College of Education in Jalandhar, Punjab, is dedicated to producing the teachers of tomorrow. For a number of programs, the admission procedure will differ. In a majority of the cases, the college may use an entrance test and/or merit ranking to admit qualifying entrance exam candidates or a set percentage of the mark holders who apply for what may be its first program. Normally, the admission process starts from early May onwards each year. The dates keep changing according to the schedule. Prospective students should view the college's website or check with the concerned admission office for the exact day on which the forms of the respective courses will be issued in order for them to prepare for the same.
The admission criteria for admission are similar depending on the course the student will opt for. Usually, the student must have finished the previous course in the recognized board/university achievement of the required percentage. For some courses, additional requirements and prerequisites may vary. Weightage of these scores, the entrance test marks, educational marks in qualifying exams, and fitness tests arranged if any at concluding stages are generally considered while making selections at times.
Application Process
1. Check Eligibility: Make sure to fulfill the requirements of the degree program you opt for.
2. Register for Entrance Exam: The entrance exams that require applying: B.Ed, CET. Apply/register and arrange appearing for them.
3. Entrance Exam: The candidates have to take up the test after the apt notice.
4. Fill Application Form: After the announcement of results, the successful candidates may procure the application form from St. Soldier College of Education for more formalities. This may be online or be obtained from the admission officers present in the college itself.

6. Merit List: Merit list shall be framed taking into account the scores obtained in the entrance examinations, performances in qualifying examinations, and other factors as per the requirements laid down by each program.
7. Counselling and Seat Allotment: The shortlisted candidates are called for counseling session. Seats are allotted on merit and according to preference.
8. Fee Payment: On receiving an allotment of admission, the candidates will be required to pay the fee within a specified time limit.
9. Document Verification: The candidates, once allotted a seat, have to appear for document verification along with an original set of certificates before confirmation from the college.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Ed: B.Ed has 200 seats. Admission to the B.Ed is based on the performance of the respective student in the B.Ed category in Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh, Punjabi University, Patiala, and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Normally, this test takes place every year in May/June. The entrance test qualifies into the merit list of the college students who are admitted based on marks obtained in the CET test only.
D.El.Ed: D.El.Ed has 50 seats. Admission to D.El.Ed is purely on merit based on marks obtained by the candidate in the Qualifying Examination and/or examination to be conducted by the state government or UT administration. The candidate's final selection will depend upon performance of the candidate in an entrance test/examinations.
D.P.Ed: D.P.Ed has 50 seats. Admissions are done strictly on merit base with marks obtained by the applicant in the previous level of education and on an entrance examination; subsequently needs-based holds by the state government/University/UT.
B.P.Ed: This program involves 50 seats. The selection for the B.P.Ed program is exhaustive, with many components. Candidates here might be on the basis of their performance at a written test or fitness test or external test; however, the final selection would involve all three. The policy of the state/affiliating university determines the weightage given to each test.
M.Ed: The last Master Program of the college is Masters in Education, titled M.Ed. It has fifty seats. The admission to the M.Ed is given by considering eligible marks obtained in the previous level of education and through entrance exams (conducted by the university or state governments or any otherbody), as set down by the authorities. Candidates should keep themselves updated on the latest provisions.
