Symbiosis School of International Studies (SSIS) was set up in 2016 as a constituent college of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) which is in the city of Pune, Maharashtra. This is an international level university and is located in Viman Nagar, near Pune International Airport. SSIS provides a strong academic environment together with valuable experience in the subject of international relations. Being small with a total enrolment of 49 total students and a faculty of 3 members, the institute has an effective learning environment. AT present, the school provides only one Master’s programme which proves that the school is aimed a delivering quality education in the sphere of international studies. This has been accompanied by adequate seating arrangement to cater for the greatest need of any learning institution known as a classroom as well as other common facilities for learning. 

SSIS has essential facility such as the library, laboratory, and the auditorium for event, seminar, etc. It has sports basement and a gym which gives students the chance to balance the academic activities with physical ones. They also offer internet service throughout the compound so that students are connected to the world in this modern world. Out of them, one must mention Symbiosis Centre of Health Care providing medical facility to students along with the associated staff. It also has a cafeteria and some guest rooms for faculty or staff members who may have visiting relatives. 

The academic programmes are focused on the institutes’ main programme, the MA in International Studies. This is a two-year full-time course which has an approved student capacity in the institute of 30 students to ensure the institute’s maintains a good student-instructor ratio. The programme is expected to equip the learners with adequate knowledge and practical skills in international relations, diplomacy and world affairs. It is a significant virtue that the institute can cover only the course so students can get a profound and professional knowledge in the domain.

The admission procedure of SSIS is selective and streamlined. The selection procedure for the Indian students is a Writing Ability Test followed by a Personal Interaction. It also insists on academic credentials as a measure of candidate competency, and working experience is encouraged. This approach guarantees that those students who are to be offered the chance to join the programme meet the stringent academic requirements as well as be in a position to help in the class discussions.
