About Tagore Institute of Engineering and Technology, Salem

Tagore Institute of Engineering and Technology Salem is a co-educational private institution affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. The foundation of this college was laid in 2008, and since then, it has been offering engineering and management courses in various specialisations. Tagore Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a “B” Grade. Admission to various PG courses is possible through the TIET entrance examination; TANCET. For undergraduate courses, there is no mention of any entrance test. Candidates who have not taken the entrance examination will also be considered for admission if TIET seats are vacant. 


The TIET college also has its own Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), making it the only college in that region to have such a facility. Also, meeting the TIET eligibility criteria is a must, otherwise, the candidates' application will not be considered. Hostels, a library, laboratories, and transportation are some TIET campus facilities provided to students. Annually, campus selection drives are organised by the TIET placement cell to provide job opportunities to the students.

Tagore Institute of Engineering and Technology, Salem Admission

Tagore Institute of Engineering and Technology Salem offers 6 undergraduate and 3 postgraduate-level courses. At the UG level; Bachelors in Engineering/Technology are offered in artificial intelligence and data science, computer science, electrical, electronics, civil, and mechanical engineering. MBA in Financial Management and Master's in Engineering (in computer science and VLSI design) are offered as TIET PG courses. To gain admission to MBA and M.E/M.Tech programme, TIET entrance examination(TANCET) is required to be completed. 


For B.E/B.Tech programme, there is no mention of the entrance exam. Every academic year, a notification regarding TIET admission is published on the official website of the college; http://www.tagoreiet.ac.in/. Candidates can gain admission either by physically visiting the college or by filling out an application form on the college website.

  • Meeting the required eligibility criteria is a must.

  • Personal information and educational details need to be filled in the application form.

  • Selection of the candidates will be based on the marks obtained in 10+2.

  • Selected candidates need to submit documents to the college for verification.

  • Paying the course fees is the last step toward admission.

The Infrastructure is good and peaceful, where there is no much pollution is there, the college is surrounded with greenery which makes our mind calm. Classroom and Lab are clean and neat with all the basic facility which a classroom and Lab required.
