About The Oxford College of Science, Bangalore

The Oxford College of Science is one of the reputed educational Institute that is situated in Bangalore city in Karnataka and it started in 1994. This NAAC-accredited college affiliated under Bangalore University today is providing Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes in science and technology. Stretched over 2 acres of land, the college has total strength of 2,389 students and 97 faculty members. At present, the institution has 27 courses offered in six degree programmes mainly in Computer Applications, Electronics, Microbiology, Biotechnology and Fashion Design.

About facility The college believes in updating the facilities to help improve the learning of the students. It comprises well-equipped laboratories accommodating five hundred computers on LAN containing the disciplinary necessary facilities. It is one of the largest collections of literature, with more than 25565 volumes, 10045 titles, and above 70 international and national journal subscriptions. The college organises academic and cultural events, having an auditorium with 650 seating capacity along with the videoconferencing facility to have interaction globally.

The welfare of learners is of paramount importance at The Oxford College of Science. The institution offers boys and girls’ hostel accommodation to all students, whereby quality services include a qualified diagnosed kitchen to prepare healthy meals for students, standard sports centres, and a library or reading room for the students. The campus has Wi-Fi computerisation for academic, administrative, and hostel blocks. Other facilities are a cafeteria, clinic, gym, and adequate parking space. The college also has a very active alumni base to Christich through all that it sets up of the alumnus each year, and its alumnus network is very active.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Sc Programs: The college has various B.Sc programs like Microbiology, Biotechnology, Mathematics, Electronics, Computer Science, Biochemistry, Genetics, Zoology, and Chemistry. The admission is granted based on marks obtained in the 10+2 qualifying examination. The intake is different for all the specializations. Some have 180 seats, such as Microbiology and Biotechnology. Others, such as Zoology and Chemistry, have 60 seats each.

BCA: Bachelor of Computer Applications BCA is a course with an aggregate intake of 240 seats. Admission is granted on the basis of the score in the 10+2 examination, mainly on mathematics and computer science.

M.Sc Programs: The college offers M.Sc programs in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Applied Genetics, Mathematics, Electronic Science, Chemistry, Statistics, Computer Science, and Physics. A bachelor's degree in the concerned subject is the general requirement for admission to the above programs. The selection procedure may be based on the marks secured in the qualifying degree.

MCA (Master of Computer Applications): The intake of the MCA program is approved at 60 seats. Admission is done on the basis of the performance of the candidate in his bachelor's degree, preferably in a computer science-related field.

MA English: Admission to the MA English program is done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination, which is a bachelor's degree with English as a major subject.

The oxford college of science is located at the outskirt of the town area. its a huge building with well equiped classroom, and laboratory, its has a great library which is filled with all the necessary books for student, while xerox shop is just outside the college. All the classrom, laboratory , library are well maintained. canteen for staff and student is located inside the college campus where you can order both north and south indian dishes. PG for boys and girls are just nearby.

The infrastructure her is quite decent. The classrooms, labs, center's, and hostels are all very well equipped and maintained. Many other facilities like these have been really helpful for all of us and that too during that year 2013-16.

They also provides other facilities like hygienic and nutritious food, reading room and sports centre for the hostelites.

Further, the college was established in the year 1994 and is under the affiliation of Bangalore University, Bangalore. It is also approved by AICTE , IAO with NAAC Accreditation Grade 'A'. And it has been Ranked under top 5 among the Best Private Colleges of Karnataka for 15 consecutive years.

Oxford college is better in terms of infrastructure and faculty members.The college has spacious classrooms,labs,wifi and also a good building.The teachers are much helpful and seniors.They are strict and mantains a disciplinary act through out.They are highly educated.Moreover the placement cell of the college is quite strong.

JSS Medical College is one of the best private medical colleges in India. Placements: All the seniors got jobs after their internships. ... You can do an internship at JSS Hospital, or you can take a transfer to another hospital. Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, and medical facilities are good.
