Oxford College of science provides amazing infrastructure which makes gen z generation like smart classrooms 24 into 7 Wi-Fi support ,hygienic canteen ,cafeteria superior playground overall very good college infrastructure and facilities provided by the college
Faculty silver college holds advanced degree which shows the enthusiastic in the teaching field there very thoroughly in their field, they will students by case studies practical of biochemistry the curriculum will update frequently.
Placement process is easy and it is good as I am seeing our seniors are getting placed in good companies like chemicals pharmaceuticals with then good package like 5to6 lpa almost 90-95% of the students are getting placed
The oxford college of science is located at the outskirt of the town area. its a huge building with well equiped classroom, and laboratory, its has a great library which is filled with all the necessary books for student, while xerox shop is just outside the college. All the classrom, laboratory , library are well maintained. canteen for staff and student is located inside the college campus where you can order both north and south indian dishes. PG for boys and girls are just nearby.
im studying MSc Organic Chemistry as i have completed my graduation in chemistry, this is the only subject which makes me alive. The teachers are well qualified and have great way of teaching the student. As the college is affliated to Bangalore University all the curriculum are in accordance to the university. Campus recruitment happen quite frequently which help the student to get job while studying in the college.
students who are great in studies are placed in pharmaceutical companies such as Sipla, while other are placed in different companies as well. 40 to 50% of students get placed with starting 3L/Annum salary in pharma. The average salary ranges from 2L TO 2.5L/Annum. The placement cell in the college help the student in all possible way so that the student can get the job easily and pleasently.
the cellege fees was 1LAKH per year and with all the necessary facilites and well equiped teacher i have received education worth every penny.
the best part of the college was the laboratory as taking science is all about practical work, the laboratory is filled with all the necessary equipment. while the worst part of the college was it doesnot have the necessary campus area, just a tall building thats it. students are friendly even though there are language barrier but that doesnt create much of a problem for teacher and students as well. You can approach the teacher when every you required. they are always ready for you.
The infrastructure her is quite decent. The classrooms, labs, center's, and hostels are all very well equipped and maintained. Many other facilities like these have been really helpful for all of us and that too during that year 2013-16.
I studied Bsc in Microbiology here. So as far as the academic part is concerned, the journey has been really good. The faculty have been really dedicated in teaching us. The laboratories were very advanced enough.
I pursed Bsc here and then did my masters in Mangalore and then I got placed that way. But as far as I know, The placements here at Oxford are very good now in the upcoming years. So you can definitely go for this choice.
Classrooms are clean but only problem is not enough fans, but given the climate of Bangalore that is tolerable. The hostel rooms are big and spacious but too much meaningless restrictions. Hostel is far from the college and going to college on your own timing also requires written permission. Food is average. However, hostel staff is too incompetent. And there is no coordination between the college and the hostel.
Academically this college is quite good. There are well maintained labs with all facilities and the teachers are also helpful and knowledgeable. Also this is one of the few colleges to provide a triple honours course.
Placements are better for masters students rather than for bachelors students. However placement cell is quite competent and informative and helpful. Since I am only in my bachelors so I do not have much information about the placement procedure .
I would say the fees for the courses is quite affordable as compared to other colleges. Though there are some charges which I feel are overrated like the lab breakage fees and the biotechnology society fees.
College campus is not too big. It is quite compact. If you are looking for large porticos and big grounds then you'd be disappointed. However campus life is quite interesting. There are different fests both for different departments as well as the combined college fest the Oxfoignite. Teachers and hods are very helpful and cooperative. However I would say the office staff is quite lousy, speaking from my personal experience. Location is quite okay.
If you're looking for a place to get a worthy degree and knowledge this is a good choice but if you're looking for a more happening campus life with posh infrastructure then you might get disappointed.
The college labs are decent enough but there is no sports teacher and extra activities leaving studies is given less attention in this college. The hostels have nice rooms and good environment though the food is not so good
The life science department is very good at Oxford , teachers are always supportive to help student but you have to fulfill the attendance rant or else you may get detained. You should have to keep 75 percent each sem.
Few pharmaceutical companies visit for campus selection and meritorious student are always selcted.Companies like Cipla and Mankind visit the campus and various rounds of selection are taken. The physical science department is having a nice campus placements.
The course fees is 40k per year.Hostel fees is 92k and there are both two sharing and 3 sharing option available. For girls there are lot of restrictions in hostel boys have a bit of lineancy. The hostels are well maintained.
The campus life is limited to very small area and there is not much to discover. It is located at HSR layout and has a good environment outside the campus.
