About Thejus Engineering College, Thrissur

Thejus Engineering College was started in the year 2009, located at Vellarakkad, Thrissur, in the State of Kerala. This is an AICTE-affiliated college that has a vast connectivity of more than 11 acres of land, providing numerous specialisations in engineering. Thejus Engineering College has a total of 1203 students enrolment capacity, and they have 65 faculties who can easily facilitate the students to get qualified in their academics. Currently, the college teaches 8 programmes at two levels of the degree, and it focuses on such engineering fields as computer science, civil, mechanical, and electrical and electronics engineering.

The physical infrastructure of the college is very sound, featuring many assorted amenities that are intended to support student learning. The institutional library has been stocked with more than 13,000 books of engineering, technology, science, humanities, & management. It also maintains a number of national and international journals for the students to update themselves with a huge knowledge base. The computer-assisted learning is facilitated by the digital library, D-Space, which provides access to over 1200 e-journals from J-Gate. There are special hostel accommodations for both sexes for those who live within the compound with appropriate facilities for comfort as well as for study. This college has a well-equipped information technology resource with almost 600 networked high-end computers, and the college campus has wi-fi facilities to provide easy access to information.

Thejus Engineering College provides nearly all the courses that a student may be interested in pursuing. The institution offers the following programmes: The undergraduate B.Tech offered in 5 programmes, while the postgraduate M.Tech offered in 3 programmes are all full-time programmes. The B.Tech programmes offered are Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Electronics & Computer Engineering. At the university level, at the postgraduate level, there is an M.Tech in structural engineering, computer science and engineering, and geotechnical engineering. The colleges have approved the total intake for all courses at 364 students, a fact that shows the colleges are directed towards offering quality education by containing class sizes.

Admission to Thejus Engineering College is done through management and government quotas, and all the admissions are made on the basis of merit. The college follows the norms of the current season for B.Tech as well as M.Tech admission as per the restrictions framed by the Government of Kerala, APJAKTU, as well as AICTE. For B.Tech programmes, the only entrance exam accepted is KEAM (Kerala Engineering Architecture & Medical Examination). The candidates appearing for M.Tech should have a GATE score: Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. 

The college also gives weightage to the AMIE/AMIETE examination scores in M.Tech for those who have scored and passed a minimum of 55% marks in Section B of the examination and also have qualified GATE. Although some major details of the scholarship offer are yet to be disclosed, the college’s promise of offering affordable quality education is seen from their fee structure. Thejus Engineering College, Thrissur Admission

Thejus Engineering College, Thrissur will have merit admissions for both government and management quota students. Admission into B.Tech and M.Tech is entirely governed by the latest admission guidelines issued by the Government of Kerala which APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (APJAKTU) and AICTE have approved.

The admission committee considers mainly entrance test scores of the Kerala Engineering Architecture & Medical Examination (KEAM) for admission into B.Tech courses.

M.Tech admission requires students to have a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score. Thus, the approach employed in the admissions process ensures that the best-preferred students are chosen for the limited number of seats allotment within each specific program.

Application Process

This application process for Thejus Engineering College is different for various programs:

For B.Tech Programs:

1. The applicant should appear for the KEAM entrance examination.
2. Register with the centralized allotment procedure of the Kerala government.
3. Choose Thejus Engineering College for the course during counseling.
4. In the event that a seat is allottied, he/she reports to the college for document verification and payment of fees.

For M.Tech Programs:

1. Qualifying to GATE with the minimum score is the first requirement.
2. The applicant will visit the official website of Thejus Engineering College to apply directly or admonished.
3. The aspirants to submit all the above required documents including GATE score card, degree certificates, and mark sheets.
4. In case the college conducts any other selection process the candidate will appear.

Degree wise Admission Procedure

B.Tech Programs: This consists of Computer Engineering and Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Electronics & Computer Engineering under the B.Tech program. All B.Tech programs, including the above, take their admission requirements from the KEAM score. Approved intake in these programs varies as follows:

  1. Computer Science and Engineering: 90 seats.
  2. Civil Engineering: 30 seats.
  3. Mechanical Engineering: 30 seats.
  4. Electrical and Electronics Engineering: 30 seats.
  5. Electronics and Computer Engineering: 60 seats.

M.Tech Programs: M.Tech Courses are, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. Admission is based on GATE scores. The M.Tech Structural Engineering program has been allotted 18 seats; however, other M.Tech programs have not specified their intake.

Candidates must also fulfill eligibility criteria for the M.Tech and B.Tech degree programs as specified by the College and other regulatory bodies, including minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination (10+2 for B.Tech; Bachelor's degree for M.Tech), in addition to the requisite entrance exam score.
