Udaya College of Education, Kanyakumari, was started in the year 2008 and it is affiliated college offering education in teacher education. This co-educational school is situated in Udaya Nagar, Ammandivilai & Post, Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu occupies an area of 2.5 acres of land. Also, the college is certified by the National Council for Teacher Education making it functional in the training of teachers. Udaya College of Education has the student intake of 200 students, and in addition, has 16 faculty members, which guarantees personalised approach and effective learning in teaching profession. The institution offers only one programme in its faculty of education, a full time course that takes two academic years to complete, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).

The college has formulated several facilities for the students to enhance their development and also their health. Prominent among these facilities are the 400 meter track, tennis court, basketball court, badminton court and kho-kho court each at par with international facilities. Some examples of indoor sports facility are chess and carom. Udaya College of Education also possesses a swimming pool for the convenience of the students and members of teach staff all year round. For Academic and co-curricular activities, there are two air conditioned seminar halls, a conference hall and an auditorial with 2000 seat capacity. These are equipped with modern communication aids and needed for different activities such as faculty development workshops and national conferences.

Udaya College of Education has only one course which is the Bachelor of Education (B.ED) programme and has an approved nomination capacity of 100 students. This programme’s training is designed for students interested in the teaching profession and in education in general. The college offers only one specialised course means that efforts and resources can be directed to training teachers effectively. The total student enrolment is equivalent to the intake capacity of the college thus, having a consistent population for two years of the programmes.

Admission to Udaya College of Education is as per rules and regulation framed by state government, UT administration, and the university with which the college is affiliated to. Qualification for admission include marks obtained in the qualifying or entrance examination. The college may also conduct other screening methods according to the regulations of the sponsoring institutions. The college provides hostel accommodation for both sexes at 200 for boys and 180 for girls to accommodate extra students from out station.
