About University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chandigarh

The University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences was founded in the year 1994 under the premier constituent college of Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. It is approved by the PCI, hence assuring high quality of education in conformation to industrial standards. With a faculty strength of 21 dedicated professionals.

Its college library, the main hub of learning, is centrally air-conditioned and contains volumes exceeding 600,000, thus much needed for students and researchers working on different assignments. Spacious reading halls, research carrels, and special collection sections in the library meet diverse study needs. It also has 17 hostels—8 for boys and 9 for girls—that accommodate nearly 6,700 students for the students requiring accommodation. Also available in the campus is a working women's hostel that accommodates 70 boarders.

The institution offers a wide range of courses in Pharmaceutical Sciences. The courses offered by UIPS include 8 courses in 3 degree levels. B. Pharma at the undergraduate level, various M. Pharma specialisations at the postgraduate level, and Ph.D. programs for advanced research. One of the major flagship courses of the Institute at this University is B. Pharma, which has an approved intake of 46 students. At the postgraduate level, UIPS offers specialised M.Pharma programs in areas such as Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, and Pharmaceutics, with intakes ranging from 5 to 10 each.

The admission process at UIPS is competitive and merit-based. In the case of the B.Pharma course, admission is granted on the basis of the Panjab University Undergraduate Common Entrance Test (PU CET). The admission to the postgraduate level for M.Pharma courses is made on a combined merit coming from aggregate marks of B.Pharma (30% weight) and GPAT Score (70% weight). The Institute considers GPAT scores for all its M.Pharma Programs. The reason for doing so at UIPS is that it brings in complete uniformity in the scrutiny of the applicant.

University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Punjab offers MPharm in Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology, Admission is done on the basis of combined merit obtained from aggregate marks obtained in BPharm for which 30% weightage is provided, and GPAT scores for which 70% weightage is given. This year GPAT result was out. The cut-off of general category is 163, OBC category 131, SC category 103, ST category cutoff 76 and EWS category cutoff is 136.

You didn't mention your category above but said that you are qualified so assume that you are not in a general category student.

So ofcourse you are getting college for Mpharm. But you didn't mention which state you belongs or which college you want.
