A good experience at IP university

    Verified Review
    College Infrastructure

College doesn't have functional infrastructures such as material labs, construction workshop, large plotters, computer labs, etc. Hostel facility and library is good. There is no wi-fi in the studio, no lecture halls for daily lectures, although the university does provide seminar halls for talks and workshops.

    Academics

I am studying architecture. The quality of teaching of few professors is good. The curriculum is updated for most of the subjects such as history, however, there is a lack of exposure for representation mediums, new technology and design softwares. The four year course does not make one job-ready. It is my fifth year and this is purely dedicated to internship.

    Placements

There is no college placements. Since there is a mandatory internship which students have to acquire themselves, so most students tend to stay in these organization or they go for masters. Sadly, in architecture, salaries for junior architects does not remotely reach the 'packages' of other courses, however, this is an issue with the course and not the institution.

    Value for Money

Fees for first year is 75000/- and for rest of the years it is around 60000-70000 per year. I think it is worth it because of the campus and the course offerings.

    Campus Life

Campus is very large. There are many societies although I haven't participated in them personally. Hostel life is great but there are many restrictions for girls. The campus is very safe and can handle emergencies. There was a fire some time back which was mitigated by the fire department very well leaving no injuries to the students

    My experience at USAP

    Verified Review
    College Infrastructure

USAP doesn't have necessary facilities and equipment. The classrooms are in stilts and receive minimal sunlight due to narrow windows. There is no proper ventilation. The furniture provided is not enough and most of them are broken. Sometimes, we have to borrow chairs from other classes. But the living spaces are clean and the food provided by the canteen is good. There is no particular building allotted to USAP, all the classrooms are scattered throughout the campus, which is the worst part.

    Academics

The only requirement for the teachers in B. Arch. course is a masters degree and no experience, which is extremely important for this course. Most of the teachers are inexperienced and are not passionate about teaching and there's a huge gap between what we are taught and what the industry requires. There are minimal on the field experiences. Faculty members are not enough. For a subject that requires 4 teachers, there are only two teachers available.

    Placements

USAP does not offer placements. B. Arch is not a professional degree so no college in India provides placement for B. Arch. course, so can't really blame the college. If you want a job in this domain, then you are required to do masters in this field.

    Value for Money

The course fee is around 48000 per year. It is very less as compared to other colleges in India. So, it is worth it.

    Campus Life

    Campus is life is good.

    B. Arch from USAP, IP University

    Verified Review
    College Infrastructure

The infrastructure is not that much great. Our studio doesn't have proper furniture. We do not have enough chairs and most of the chairs are broken. ACs don't work properly. In our hostel, we have single sharing rooms with normal beds and a single almirah. Hostel food is fine but not that much great. Washrooms are clean.

    Academics

I am studying Bachelors in Architecture because I have interest in creativity and designing stuff. Our faculty members are pretty good. Some of the teachers are not much supportive though. Curriculum is good and updated and covers all the important aspects of architecture.

    Placements

There is no placement for this course. It is not because of the college but because of the course we are studying. Most students go for masters for getting job in this field. However, you can get off-campus placements if you are lucky, but salaries offered are not much attractive.

    Value for Money

    Yes, it is worth it.

    Campus Life

The only thing great is the campus life. The campus has large grounds where you can sit and spend your time. You can also go for long walks and you will find it amazing. The college is located at Dwarka Sector - 16C. It is nearest to Dwarka Sec - 14 metro station. The area is not safe at night however, the inside of the campus is very safe.
