Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science Lucknow is also quite a new venture. It undertakes professional courses in forensic science, cyber security, and the law. For various undergraduate courses and post graduate courses here is quite tough for admission as a selection process adopted here is not so lenient. It just selects the student who is in the top tier of merit usually. The admission cycle of UPSIFS usually overlaps with the academic calendar, which typically ranges between August and September in most areas.
For undergraduate courses, the institute accepts scores of exams like JEE Main for B.Tech courses and CLAT for law courses. For postgraduate courses, admission is made based on the scores of GATE for M.Tech programs, CLAT PG for LL.M courses, and NFAT for forensic science courses.
The eligibility criteria vary with the course. In undergraduate courses, the candidate needs to have passed 10+2 from a recognized board with the relevant subjects. For postgraduate courses, applicants are generally required to have a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.
Application Procedure
Applications to various programs under UPSIFS differ with the same program's associated entrance exam. The following is a general overview of the process:
1. Qualify relevant entrance exam B.Tech programs: Qualify
2. Check the official UPSIFS website (https://upsifs.org/) for program-specific application announcements and deadlines.
3. Fill out the online application form for the chosen program on the UPSIFS website or as directed by the institute.
4. Pay the mandatory application fee as per the instructions given for remittance.
5. Upload the documents required in the application portal, which shall include:
6. Completely filled in application form to be submitted before the expiry date.
7. For certain courses, post shortlisting further rounds like interview or counseling might be conducted with the candidate
8. Selection process is finalized on the entrance exam scores along with any other round that institute may conduct.
9. After selection, selected candidates will have to pay admission fees and document verification to ensure their seat in the college.
10. Orientation program and classes will commence according to the academic calendar.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Sc. M.Sc. Forensic Science Integrated The 5 year integrated course would have an intake of 60 seats. Admissions shall be made through NFAT, as conducted by National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) Gandhinagar, Gujarat Candidates qualify NFAT-2024 to be considered for admission.
B.Tech M.Tech CSE specialization with Cyber Security Integrated: The integrated program offers 60 seats. The admission is on the basis of merit of marks obtained in JEE (Main) - 2024. Candidates must qualify JEE Main to get admission.
B.Sc LL.B Hons: Intake of 60 students Admission based on Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) UG-2024 scores Candidates must qualify CLAT and will be selected based on the merit of the CLAT score.
M.Tech specialization in AI and DS with Cyber Security : The seats under this post-graduate program amount to 40. The admission is based on the merit list of valid scores in GATE. A qualifying score in GATE is essential for a candidate to be eligible for admission.
LL.M in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice Administration It has 40 seats Admission will strictly be based on the score of CLAT PG -2024 The eligible candidates would qualify in CLAT PG and selections further will strictly be based on the merit of the CLAT PG scores.
LL.M Cyber Law and Cyber Crime Investigation: The other LL.M program, with a capacity of 40 seats. Admission is the same as the Criminal Law LL.M. Candidates falling in the CLAT PG-2024 cut-off are shortlisted based on their merit in the CLAT PG score.
M.Sc Forensic Science: Offers a 2-year postgraduate course. The capacity of the course is 40 seats. Admission to M.Sc Forensic Science is done through the National Forensic Admission Test (NFAT)-2024, which is conducted by NFSU, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
Very good professors in btech - mtech course. Good academic conditions with exams every 1 month and assignments for evaluation. The curriculum for 1st sem physics and maths is of 12 th only. But in computer science the level is a bit high and that is completely ok for being future proof.
