Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Government Institute of Medical Science and Research, or VCSGGMS & RI, was founded in the year 2008 in Srinagar, Uttarakhand. This is a fairly well-known medical hub that offers various medical programs as an affiliated college under the approval of the National Medical Commission. The institute has a total student enrolment of 424 with a faculty strength of 67. VCSGGMS & RI has contributed towards excellence in medical education by offering 26 courses under 4 degree programs in varied specializations of medicine.

Equally, all modern facilities are provided to support the academic and personal growth of students.The boys and girls have separate hostels within the campus that provide comfortable accommodation to the students. It has a state-of-the-art library spread over three floors, comprising more than 8,400 books related to various subjects of Medicine. Other integral parts of the infrastructure include well-equipped laboratories for departments such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, and Pathology, which serve to give students hands-on experience with the latest equipment. Sports facilities and gym provide for the physical fitness and recreation of students at VCSGGMS&RI. The events and seminar auditorium also forms a part of the campus, improving the learning experience as a whole. 

Courses in Medical at VCSGGMS & RI VCSGGMS & RI offers a variety of courses in medical at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma levels. MBBS is the principal course with an approved enrolled of 175 seats. MD and MS courses are also offered with different specializations in subjects like Anatomy, Pathology, Community Medicine, Microbiology, and Forensic Medicine. Also, diploma courses in specialties like Dermatology, Ophthalmology, and ENT are available. 

Admissions to the MBBS course are made through NEET-UG. Admission to the postgraduate courses, MD and MS, is through NEET-PG. These tests make the selection process at par with equity and competitiveness for the aspiring student pursuing a medical career.
