Veterinary College located at Hebbal was established in 1958 and it is one of the constituent colleges of Karnataka, Bangalore. The institute recognized and approved by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research offer various courses in veterinary science. Covering a vast area of land measuring 196 acres, the college takes pride over an overall total enrollment of 455 students and a staff of 52 members. The institute offers 28 different courses through its three-degree qualifications, which are the Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral degrees and focuses on veterinary science and animal production.
It has well equipped modern facilities to support its academic and research missions of the college. It has been equipped with facilities such as student library, specialized laboratories for departments and an auditorium for hosting events and seminars respectively. It also has cafeteria, health center with first aid facilities, and a great IT facility. In terms of physical health, there are available workouts – there is a gym, and other sport amenities. The college has dormitory facilities for male and female students to ensure those who live in the college have comfort and privacy.
the courses offered by Veterinary College, Hebbal for students are a wide portfolio that covers various angles of veterinary studies. About 28 courses are offered in the institute which includes 1 undergraduate course, 16 postgraduate and 11 doctoral level programs In the institute, 700 students are enrolled for various postgraduate programs. Such courses include Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Pathology, Animal Genetics and breeding, and Veterinary Surgery and Radiology and so on. It covers vast areas of disciplines that enables students gain rich knowledge and professional training in their areas of specialization.
It is important to note, however, that only one Veterinary College in Karnataka operates and is located at Hebbal and the admission to this college is based on merit and differs for each programme. For the B.V.Sc and AH program the admission is given through the score of the Common Entrance Test conducted by the Government of Karnataka for Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
For the postgraduate programs, the selection is quitedifferent; the performance of the student in the respective bachelors degreeand the post coca cola test administered by the university. The MCQ written test is of 100 Multiple choice questions at the undergraduate level of certification. Doctoral admissions have a similar trend set, but extra emphasis is offered to the research papers and the conversion in ICAR/CSIR-SRF/NET examinations.
The college also goes an extra step of looking at other achievements in academics, games, sports, cultural activities, and other special categories, like physically challenged students, Anglo Indian, Scouts & Guides, school topper and children of ex servicemen or defense personnel. All Institutions must have recognition by Medical Council of India Act. MBBS is known as Bachelors of Medicine and Bachelors of Surgery. Institutions offering MBBS Course (https://www.metaeducationindia.com/mbbs-in-india/) in its syllabus are referred to as Medical Colleges. This course has curriculum with the basic and Para- Clinical Subjects like- Anatomy, Bio-Chemistry, Pathology, Physiology, Medicine and Pharmacology. It is a four and half years program and one year internship for students as per guideline by WHO.

Since 2004, the Hebbal Veterinary College has been affiliated with the Karnataka Veterinary Animal and Fisheries Sciences University.
There are 11 seats available under the 15% All India Quota, with 7 seats for general applicants, 1 for UR PH, 2 for SC candidates, and 1 for ST candidates.
It does not have management quotas because it is a government entity. For all candidates, the price structure is roughly INR 60,000 to 70,000 per year.
