VSPM Dental College has an admission process that is primarily based on national-level entrance examinations, making the selection process fair and competitive. For undergraduate (BDS) admissions, the college accepts scores from the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). Similarly, postgraduate (MDS) admissions are accepted based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for MDS (NEET-MDS). The academic year mainly starts in August and September while the admission process begins a couple of months beforehand.
For undergraduate courses, the candidate should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as mandatory subjects. Candidates seeking admission to postgraduate courses must be holders of BDS degree from an accredited college or university. Some general eligibility criteria are applicable for individual courses, and the candidate is advised to refer to the specific eligibility criteria for his/her chosen course.
Application Process
The application process differs based on the course:
For BDS Program:
1. Attend NEET-UG examination conducted by NTA.
2. Clear NEET-UG through achieving the mandatory cut-off marks.
3. Seek state and central counseling whichever is applicable to them.
4. Apply at VSPM Dental College in case one gets allotted there.
5. In case the seat has been allotted then the student need to report in the college. And after which admission formalities would be undertaken along with documents verification.
For MDS Courses:
1. NEET-MDS offered by the National Board of Examinations (NBE)
2. Obtain qualification in NEET-MDS, with marks on or above cut off.
3. Counseling for admission into MDS course by state and /or Central
4. Choose VSPM Dental College and preferred specialty in counseling
5. If allotted seat, finalize all admission formalities at college
The selection process is mainly based on the candidate's performance in the respective entrance examinations, NEET-UG for BDS and NEET-MDS for MDS. Seat allocation is done through counseling processes, which may be conducted at the state or central level, depending on the category of the seat (state quota, all-India quota, etc.).
Degree wise Admission Process
BDS: The VSPM Dental College offers the undergraduate course BDS for 100 admitted students strictly according to merit-based selection on performance in NEET-UG alone. Those qualified in NEET-UG scoring the minimum eligibility cut off would be considered and eligible for participation in the seat allotment through counseling process.
MDS: VSPM Dental College offers specialization for MDS in Conservative Dentistry, Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Orthodontics, Paedodontics, Periodontics, and Prosthodontics. All the MDS courses are offered with intake through National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for MDS. Each specialty has different intake capacity with a range of 2 to 6 seats.
Doctorate: Under the institution, postgraduates also acquire the doctoral level under the institution which includes Oral Medicine and Radiology, Crown and Bridge- Prosthodontics, Periodontics, and Orthodontic specialty, Surgery-Maxillo facial, conservative dental and End and path and Oral micro-biology.
