Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) is a two-year full-time undergraduate course offered by the University of Jammu, Jammu.

Eligibility Criteria

Admission to the B.Ed course in the non-Govt. Colleges of Education are open to candidates in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in the faculty of Arts / Science / Social Sciences / Commerce / Management (under 10+2+3 or 10+1+3 pattern) / Engineering / Medicine / Agriculture / Veterinary Sciences / Forestry / Music and Fine Arts from the University of Jammu or any other statutory university in India and having secured at least 45% of the aggregate marks in the qualifying Examination in case of general category. In the case of SC/ST category candidates who are permanent residents of J&K State and belong to the areas falling under the jurisdiction of Jammu University, the eligibility condition will be having secured 40% of the aggregate marks in the qualifying examination. However, one sitting Bachelor’s Degree External Examination conducted by any university in the country is not recognized for the purpose of admission to B.Ed. course.

Admission Details

Admission of all eligible candidates to the B.Ed. the course is made by the Centralized Admission Committee constituted by the University of Jammu. The candidate desirous of seeking admission in the said programme is required to apply to the University of Jammu as per the notification issued by it in the local and national newspapers. The admission is made by the Centralized Admission Committee on the basis of counselling conducted by it on the dates notified by it separately, strictly in order of merit obtained in the qualifying examination in respective categories. During the counselling session, the college is allotted to a candidate by the Admission Committee on merit-cum-choice basis subject to the availability of seats in that college.
