The college provides you with pretty good infrastructure, in generally the campus is really beautiful and full of greenery and has a good environment to be around. The classrooms and other facilities are good as well, the library has a wide variety of books and is quite helpful. The college also has good sports facilities, and in general caters to people interested in sports. The area is also good you find decent hostels around area as well.
The teachers are pretty nice as well, our department in general had good teachers. The course provides you with good knowledge of psychology and is one of the best in Chennai. The exams were conducted timely, and we were provided exposure to the field and job opportunities
The placements are not bad either, most people do get placed in a decent place. Personally I did not sit for placements so I don't have any experience to share in that particular field. Also courses commerce courses do have better placements in comparison to humanities.
I was part of the NRI category so I did pay slightly more in comparison, but the course provided me with everything I wanted to learn when it comes to psychology and related fields.
WCC has a really good campus, its spacious and very beautiful. It also includes all the old architecture which adds to the beauty. The management is cooperative and personally never had a problem, but the website does sometimes act up so that's about all
Yes my college have all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipments. My college has all the facilities like well maintained laboratories, beautiful library with many number of books including ebooks, they have also provided is with wifi and smart board in our class. The living spaces clean and the food is very hygienic
I'm study plant technology because it is my interest and it is my passion. The quality of teaching is really of high quality . Yes my curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in the field. Yes what I study it make my job ready.
The quality of placement in my college is of higher one with many reputed national and international companies. The percentage of students were placed is above 60. The highest salary package offered is above 5lakh I'm not sure about to which course they are offering to
Yes I feel it worth studying there . I pay 40000 per year and they give us the best education there. And the performance will be outstanding. Yes I feel that I'm getting my money worth because they provide me with many opportunities.
My college is the best. It has many features, like certificate courses and so many extra curricular activities are also provided. Fine arts and sports are well developed. The campus is excellent and we can find many greens here and there with lovely sight pleasant to our eyes
Apart from education my college teaches us good values and ethics. I'm proud to study in this college and I'm so happy to be a part in this college. Hostel will be very clean and only healthy food is provided to the students.
Women's Christian College has a very good infrastructure spaced approximately around 20 acres of land with all green fresh environment. A very good college for both day scholars and residents. Very good classrooms, spacious, well lit and comfortably furnished. The labs are all equipped well to provide students with a hands on experience on their chosen field. A very spacious and peaceful library for reference...one can find books from both foreign and Indian authors, very well organised.
I studied Nutrition and dietetics undergraduate course and I had a good exposure in all the fields of my course. We were encouraged to do a deep study for our projects and seminars. This enabled us to top our placements in either higher studies or in career. Currently I'm pursuing my higher education and what I have learnt in B.Sc has certainly proved to be helpful now. We were not only exposed to curriculum but were also encouraged to do Skill Based Courses (SKB) and Non-Major Electives (NME).
Our college currently has 100+ placement tie-ups with major companies like Nestle, Britannia for food technology aspirants, top diet and sport counselling centres, also has placements in banking sectors, CGS, Cognizant and so on...The college has career guidance cell, where you can walk-in and talk freely about your career concerns and receive suitable advice. The college also has a system of recording student' achievements and updating them once in every semester, which is very useful for us.
WCC offers both government-aided and self-finance courses. The annual fee may range between 20-25k for the former and 30-35k for the latter. I feel its really a worth to study here for all you get is knowledge and vast exposure in a very peaceful atmosphere and friendly teachers. You not only gain book knowledge but also practical knowledge.
WCC has one of the most beautiful campuses with a variety of flora and chirping birds. The college is well kept and maintained. The hostel is the resident's paradise. I have not once heard a resident complaining about food or room. There are NCC, NSS, Rotaract, Eco-Club, 1 year of compulsory sport and also inter and intra college cultural programs every year. We can opt to study the final year in America or Britain by qualifying for transfer programs. Both Indian and international students study
I am proud to say that I am an alumni of this renowned institution.
My college has a very good infrastructure which includes Xerox shops, libraries, laboratories and a Green box which supplies fresh and healthy foods and the college has banned junk foods including chocolates and chips recently and it also has an atm machine to facilitate both hostellates and day scholars.
I have chosen bca which is an computer oriented stream and my department has modified the syllabus 5 to 6 years back. And I think it's not up to the level when compared to today's advancements in computer field. And the management is currently in the process of modifying the syllabus which will benefit the upcoming students and they will have a better view about the subjects
Currently I'm in 2nd year, usually students will get their placements by the final year. According to what I heard is that the placement process took place smoothly even though the number of companies which came are quiet less compared to other departments but most of the students are placed in.
The cost of my course is rs. 55,000+ and I think it's quiet higher because my department has less staffs and have a single lab.The reason I felt this way is that there is no extra course materials to develop our knowledge and there is no means to tell us about the careers we have through this. I think they can reduce it to further more like atleast 6 or 7 thousand
I love the college ambience surrounded by green environment and it has all the facilitates it needed. And the college have 6 to 7 clubs to enhance the students abilities and the location is safe and convenient. The main negative thing what I think is the limited time. As the blocks are placed far away, we have to rush in every hour before the attendence.
I love this college personally and it also have some strict rules which annoys you sometimes. I would recommend this college if you can tolerate all this rules.
The college has a good infrastructure. The blocks have enough classrooms and laboratories for each department. There is a library where various books are available. They also support online classes. The canteen is available during college hours and they are well maintained. The hostels are comfortable and safe ,and the food provided in the mess is hygenic. There is a gym that helps the students to remain fit. There is also a sports club that provides many opportunities for interested students.
I'm studying BCA because I'm interested in programming. The quality of teaching is good. The curriculum is updated each year to the level of current standards. This is done in consultation with the students. I believe we will be job-ready because I think we are up to date with the knowledge in our field.
As I'm just in my first year I dont know about the placement processes and trainings. There is a placement room in college where students can collect information about placement offers and job opportunities.
My course costs approximately 50000 per year. I don't feel I get money's worth of satisfaction. Though the college provides various opportunities we are unable to grab on to those opportunities because we can only focus on academics at a time and can't spare time for other activities. They must allocate time for each activity so that we can make enough use of them.
The campus is vast and there are many different types of trees. There are clubs and committees that gives students opportunities to participate in co-curricular activities. The college has an ATM inside to handle financial emergencies. They have an Apollo shine clinic to handle health emergencies. The location of the college is comfortable for students for transportation.
The college has a good reputation and they keep it up. The college is very old and the buildings are also old. They also have long old traditions that makes the college life joyfull.
Our college has all required facilities and infrastructure. Each department has the required number of classrooms and labs. The information resource center ( Library) has a vast collection of books, journals and magazine s.The library provides photocopying and internet browsing facilities and Wi-Fi to all the smart classrooms. There are 6 hostels in campus, they are clean and well maintained.Mess and canteen food is good & hygienic. There is a playground, gym and an upcoming indoor sports stadium.
I'm doing my 2nd year in B.Sc. Chemistry because I like chemistry. The teaching is good. The curriculum is updated and includes most recent developments . The tests don't include much of problem solving or analytical questioning, hence limits students exploring and studying in depth. The department offers students to work on a research project in the final year which can provide good hands on experience. The course is good on the whole but doesn't make one job ready in the same field.
Placement processes take place in the third year and it is for all courses. I'm not aware of the details of placement as I'm in my 2nd year. The college has a career guidance and placement cell. Software companies and banks provide placements through college.
My course fees per year is around ₹30,000. It is definitely worth ones money. There are many events and activities that take place in college to develop oneself. The department also conducts lectures by eminent speakers & scientists. Free online courses from Nptel , language courses and life skill courses are also provided, some are mandated by the college. Govt. and management scholarships are provided.
The campus is small but beautiful with old buildings and trees. Sports and extension activities (social service ) through NCC, NSS, YI and Eco club is compulsory. There are student-run club activities (music, dance, L&D, quiz, art). There are students from different parts of India , teachers & other staff are friendly and supportive. WCC is located in the heart of the city , hence transport is easy and safe. The campus is safe with good security staff. There is a health facility with 2 nurses.
WCC is a good college and it provides a lot of opportunities to develop oneself through the college play, senate, various clubs and workshops etc. There are cultural activities and competitions as well . The hostels are good.
The college is nearly 100 years old and some buildings are old too. They are well maintained. Each department is provided with necessary teaching materials and spaces for better understanding and learning experience for students. We have an Information Resource Center (library) that has books on various topics. They also have access to online courses. The hostels are comfortable, safe and well maintained. The food in the canteen as well as the mess for hostel students are healthy and hygienic.
I'm doing BCA because I like programming and coding. The quality of teaching is average as we don't get much updated to the current standards though the management makes updates in our syllabus in consultation with the students and teachers. As there is a rapid growth in the IT field, I think we will not be job-ready when we graduate though sometimes we do get placement training sessions and career guidance lectures.
We have a placement room in college where students are free to approach and attain information about various company job offers. I haven't experienced placement process as I'm not yet ready to attend placements.
My course fee for a year is around 50,000. I think it is worth the pay because the college provides various opportunities. I am satisfied with the infrastructure and the necessities that the college provide.
Apart from academics there are other activities like sports, extension activities and club activities etc that are available for the students. The college is located in such a place that transportation facilities are available easily. It is safe and secure as there are security guards stationed all over the campus through the day and night. In case of any health issues the students can approach Apollo Shine clinic where two nurses are present throughout the day.
On the whole I am satisfied with the college and I would recommend it for others. The courses are divided into shifts according to them being either government aided or self-financed. The timings of the college are also preferable for both shifts.
Greetings of the day dear candidate,
Admissions into various colleges will start right after board exams of class 12th will end. Also, the admisisons for various different courses have some particular eligibity criteria. So, you should wait for atleast til June for admission procedure to start.
See, if you want to take admisisons on direct basis then you can simply visit the college and fill the form and pay the fees but for that you need your class 12th marksheet. So that is why you should wait till the examination is completed for class 12th.
I hope this information will help you.
Thank you and good luck:)
Hi Ragha!
The Cut Off of B.Sc. Psychology in Women's Christian College, Chennai, has not yet been Official released by the Management. But the Admission Process for this Course is based on your 12th marks in Board Exams. From the information received 2 years before, mostly you should have above 92% for getting through Counselling. If you get less, then you can get admission through Management Quota!
Hope this is helpful!
All the best!
Hello Tharani,
It depends on the college you have joined. If there is any campus interview they will notice you just need to attend and do your duty as student. If you are selected You are either called or emailed by either HR or the hiring manager and invited to discuss the offer. If you accept it, you are probably hired, so you will know.
If yo still have any issue regarding this you can comment in below.
I hope it helps you.
There is no information given on the spot at the last interview because the interviewer usually does not know what other candidates are in the process and what is the evaluation for everyone. If the interviewer does not know, you will not know either.
