I am Mallikarjuna C.My PUC Cource is Science and then shifted to BA graduation to porphose is UPSC.In cse I interested in Anthropology optional take but face the any problems in interview? Please suggest me because I completely nervous.......
Hello,
As I told you earlier if you're confident regarding anthropology as an optional subject then it's absolutely fine, what matters is your interest and dedication towards the subject, see the optional paper of UPSC is equivalent to graduation level studies, hence if you feel you can deal with that go ahead, but do consider other things such as you're really interested in the subject, and you're not choosing it for a wrong reason like it's a scoring subject, because your dedication and focus matter when it comes to doing well in UPSC, and anyway UPSC syllabus is so extensive, and when it comes to optional that's not something one is acquainted with you have to put extra work, but that's absolutely fine as long as you're confident about it, I'll suggest you go through the syllabus of anthropology, previous year papers, and if possible consider checking out interviews of toppers who had this optional, and you can easily find answer sheets online, so consider going through all these steps, this will be make you more aware of this entire process.
Sir,My self Mallikarjuna C.I doing BA in political science first year with started UPSC.Sir I have a dought please clarify them.I take interested in Anthropology for optional but if a take antro from ba graduate any problem face in interview?
Hello,
Are you enquiring about having anthropology as an optional paper in UPSC exam with BA in political science? If yes, then it's absolutely fine as long as you fare well in Prelims, and qualify Mains with good marks, everything is going to be all right, no need to worry about these things, so many engineering students have qualified UPSC with a totally different aspirant, one such I can remember is a topper with engineering background taking up philosophy as an optional, see the interview process in UPSC is going to be an analysis of your entire personality, your traits of being an able administer, how aware you're of existing situations and your ability to deal with the same, this is not a knowledge test, I mean yes you'll be asked about latest happening so do continue reading newspaper till the day of interview, but it isn't limited to this. So, don't worry, as long as you can do well, it's all fine, the only advantage of having a graduation subject as optional paper is candidates are already acquainted with the subject, hence the preparation process becomes easy, but to each his own, if you can manage it then go ahead.
