Well it depends on how the state counselling goes as well as the all India counselling.

Like if you are the decendent of the same state then it might be possible to get the seat at the very first counselling or else after few rounds it will be allocated. 

But as per the previous JOSAA list, chances are quite high.

According to me, you should go for IIT BHUBANESHWAR since it is more premier tag as compared to that of a NIT.

Also, tag of IIT still matters.

Your future depends on your interest and hardwork and not on your college. If you like computer science engineering then you should definitely go ahead with it as NIT Jalandhar is a good NIT of tier-2. You will get good faculty and good placements there. Most of all, you will get a national exposure in the college which is very important in shaping someones career.
