if we get 1087 rank in calcutta university law entrance exam we can get admission on government colleges or not

kumardurgesh1802 23rd Aug, 2024

Hello student,

With a rank of 1087 in the Calcutta University Law Entrance Exam, getting admission to a government law college affiliated with Calcutta University might be challenging, as government colleges typically have higher cutoffs. However, this can vary year by year based on the number of applicants, seat availability, and category reservations.

What to Expect:

  1. Top Government Colleges: Government law colleges under Calcutta University usually have higher cutoff ranks, so admission with a rank of 1087 might be difficult.

  2. Lower-Ranked Government Colleges: If not in the top colleges, you might still have a chance in some of the lower-preference government law colleges, depending on seat availability after the first rounds of counseling.

  3. Private Colleges: You might have a better chance of securing a seat in a private law college affiliated with Calcutta University.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

whether a student who passed CA IPCC Group 1 (Accounting, Auditing and Law) in 2012 is eligible to get an exemption for those papes in September 2024?

vaibhavi bhalsod 19th Aug, 2024

hello

The eligibility for exemptions in the CA IPCC (now known as CA Intermediate) exams is governed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). According to the ICAI, exemptions are valid for a certain period.

If a student passed CA IPCC Group 1 (Accounting, Auditing, and Law) in 2012, they would have been eligible for exemptions in those subjects for a period of 3-4 years from the date of passing. However, since it has been more than 12 years since passing, the exemptions would have lapsed.

To confirm, I recommend checking the ICAI website or contacting the ICAI directly for the most up-to-date information on exemption validity and any possible extension or reinstatement provisions. They will be able to provide the most accurate and personalized guidance for your specific situation.

I passed one year of bcom clg so can I join law clg ?

Prachi Kumari 18th Aug, 2024

Hello Neha,

Yes, you can transition from a BCom (Bachelor of Commerce) program to a law college, but there are a few key points to consider:

1. Eligibility and Entrance Exams

  • Law Entrance Exams: Most law colleges require you to pass an entrance exam to be admitted to their programs. Common entrance exams include the CLAT (Common Law Admission Test), LSAT (Law School Admission Test), and some universities have their own entrance tests.
  • Eligibility Criteria: Check the eligibility criteria for the law colleges you are interested in. Typically, you’ll need to have completed your undergraduate degree or be in the final year of your current program. Some institutions may accept students who have completed at least one year of their undergraduate studies.

2. Application Process

  • Research Colleges: Look into the law colleges you are interested in and review their admission requirements. Ensure that you meet their criteria and understand their application process.
  • Prepare Documents: Gather necessary documents such as your academic transcripts, proof of completion of your BCom program, and any entrance exam scores.

3. Consider the Timing

  • Admission Cycle: Law colleges often have specific admission cycles and deadlines. Make sure you are aware of these dates and prepare your application materials accordingly.
  • Gap Year Considerations: If you’re applying to start law school after completing one year of your BCom, consider how this might impact your study timeline and any potential gap year.

4. Evaluate Your Career Goals

  • Career Path: Reflect on your career goals and how a law degree aligns with them. Transitioning from a BCom to law can be a significant change, so ensure that it aligns with your long-term aspirations.
  • Skill Set: Consider how your background in commerce might complement a law degree. Skills such as analytical thinking, research, and writing are valuable in both fields.

5. Seek Guidance

  • Academic Advising: Speak with academic advisors or career counselors at your current institution. They can provide insights into the transition process and help you plan your next steps.
  • Law Professionals: Consider reaching out to professionals in the legal field or current law students for advice and insights into the profession.

6. Prepare for the Transition

  • Study for Entrance Exams: If required, prepare thoroughly for law entrance exams. Use study guides, take practice tests, and consider coaching if needed.
  • Understanding Law Curriculum: Familiarize yourself with the curriculum and subjects covered in a law degree. This will help you understand what to 7. Apply and Follow Up
  • Submit Applications: Complete and submit applications to law colleges according to their guidelines.
  • Interviews and Counseling: Some law colleges may require interviews or counseling sessions. Prepare for these and be ready to discuss your motivation for pursuing a law degree.

By carefully researching and preparing for the transition, you can successfully move from a BCom program to a law college and start your journey towards a legal career.
