How to get a best future in metallurgical engineering at nits
Hello aspirant,
Metallurgy is a domain of materials science and engineering that studies the physical and chemical behavior of metallic elements, their inter-metallic compounds, and their mixtures, which are called alloys. The production of ferrous metals accounts for 95 percent of world metal production.
So there is huge scope for metallurgical engineering in India and NITS have great placements
Few best NITs for Metallurgical and Nuclear Engineering:
National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli.
National Institute of Technology Warangal.
National Institute of Technology Rourkela.
Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur.
National Institute of Technology Durgapur.
Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur.
National Institute of Technology Srinagar.
Colleges of this branch in karanatka
Hello Rajeeva,
There are only three colleges where you can pursue B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering branch in Karnataka which are mentioned below:
- National Institute of Technology Karnataka Surathkal
- Bangalore University, Bangalore
- School of Engineering and Technology, Jain University, Bangalore
Good Luck
My schedule caste rank is 6000,can I get any branch in ju like food technology, metallurgical engineering?
Hey !
The previous year closing ranks for JU for the first riund were as follows:
Metallurgical engineering 8k
Food technology 14k
So , in both the branches , your rank is lesser than the closing ranks for the previous year. So , you can expect admission in jadavpur university. If for some reasons , you do not get a seat in first round , then you can for sure get a seat in second round.
For checking previous year JU cutoffs , follow the given ljnk:

Hope it helps!
fee structure for metallurgy branch
Hello Akash!
For which college do you want to know fee structure of metallurgy branch?
Please specify so that I can help you.
Which nit is better for metallurgical engineering in placement and equipment.
Hello Aspirant
First of all Congratulating you on your nice performance that you deserve to be in NITs.
For metallurgical engineering I would suggest you in the order of most to list preferred.
- NIT warangal
- NIT surat
- NIT delhi
- NIT allahabad
- NIT durgapur
- NIT kochi
- NIT kurukshetra
Follow the order of preferences and get the best college admitted.
Good luck for your counselling procedure :)
Feel free to ask if you have any further queries.
I am weak at math and very good at chemistry. Can i opt metallurgical engineering in b.tech
Yes sir there will be mathematicis involved in course but major part of the course you need include following course:
Chemical Metallurgy
Corrosion and Degradation of MaterialsDeformation and Mechanical Working of MaterialsElements of ElectroceramicsIntroduction to Materials Science and EngineeringIron and Steel MakingMineral Process Plant Design
Polymers and Nanocomposites
Principles of Metal Extraction and Refinin
Thermodynamics and Kinetics of Materials
I am weak at math and strong in chemistry. Can i take metallurgical engineering.
See metallurgical engineering is basically studyof metals and their different properties. It covers mining, extraction, design, processing of metals. You will also be learning different fundamentals of engineering mechanics which is helpful at later stage.
Although metallurgical is based on chemical metallurgy but in first few semester you will get mathematics as it is a common subject. But you can solve the problem if you work hard and pay attention to it.
So you sre good for metallurgical engineering.
Does metallurgical engineering involve maths
Hello!
Yes, it involves mathematics.
Math is taught to all engineering students even before their actual syllabus starts. Metallurgical engineers require a very good knowledge of physics, chemistry and physical metallurgy, all of which requires math skills. Mathematics is the foundation of most sciences including thermodynamics.
Which branch is better in jntu hyd Chemical or metallurgical.?
Dear student, Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University Hyderabad is one of the top most universities in Hyderabad for pursuing engineering courses. Chemical and metallurgical Engineering are both good and well taught in JNTU. Generally, chemical engineering students have better placement and better faculties than that of metallurgical engineering students but the record varies from year to year.
My schedule caste rank is 6000 can I get metallurgical engineering in JU in first round?
Yes, most probably you can get Materials and Metallurgical Engineering in First Round in Jadavpur University according to last year's opening and closing rank which was around 5k to 8k approximately.
All the best!
