Correct Answer: $16\frac{2}{3}\%$
Solution : Given: In 20 litres of a mixture, 20% is alcohol and the rest is water. 4 litres of water is added to it. In 20 litres of mixture, Alcohol = 20 × ($\frac{20}{100}$) = 4 litres Water = 20 – 4 = 16 litres On adding 4 litres of water, Quantity of water = 16 + 4 = 20 litres Quantity of mixture = 20 + 4 = 24 litres $\therefore$ The required percentage of alcohol $= \frac{4}{24}× 100 = \frac{50}{3}\% = 16\frac{2}{3}\%$ Hence, the correct answer is $16\frac{2}{3}\%$.
