Since you already have a PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) in marketing, and have a long 8 years of experience, you may be earning a good amount of salary. But as you said, your interest lies in Finance, it is better to choose what you feel good. It is always better late than never! Yes you should do an MBA or an executive MBA, but just try to do it from a good college as doing MBA from a bad college is nothing but a wastage of money.

Hope you live your life doing what you love the most!

See you have a very good and high experience so I will recommend you to do executive MBA instead of full time MBA.

Because if you are thinking to do MBA for getting a better job then it won't be possible with full time MBA. Companies mostly looks for freshers in the marketing stream or the one who have experience of 2-3 years. I am currently pursuing my 2nd year MBA from IIM Kozhikode and have seen my batchmates plus seniors last year with work experience more than 3 years struggling to get placed. This year in my junior batch one with 11 years work experience also joined full time MBA who in the end signed out from intern placements procedure because no company was willing to take him.

In the other side an executive program runs at IIM Kozhikode in Kochi where the placements are very good. Even many of them with high work experience also comes to do executive MBA on the recommendations of company where all the fees is paid by company.

So in short doing executive MBA will be best option for you. This will add up a degree to your CV in a year and you would also be able to excel in your career.

For executive MBA also you need to clear up.tye entrance exam like CAT/GMAT depending on the college and the pass through next round of GD and interview. For executive MBA having work experience is just a criteria rest you need to go through whole procedure.

For more details about individual college and procedure you can go through bschool.careers360.com there you can get lot of information about executive program.
