Solution : Let the time travelled on foot be $x$ hours, and the time travelled on bicycle is = $(9-x)$ hours So, the distances travelled on foot and bicycle are 9x km and 18(9 – x) km, respectively. Here, $9x + 18(9-x) = 99$ ⇒ $9x = 162-99$ ⇒ $x=\frac{63}{9}= 7$ hours Therefore, the distance travelled on foot is = (9 × 7) km = 63 km Hence, the correct answer is 63.
