Correct Answer: 18
Solution : Given: Speed of the policeman = 10 km/hr Speed of the thief = 8 km/hr The relative speed of the policeman to the thief = (10 – 8) = 2 km/hr 2 km/h = $2×\frac{1000}{60}=\frac{100}{3}$ m/min Relative distance to be covered by policeman = 600 m We know, Time = $\frac{\text{Distance}}{\text{Speed}}$ $\therefore$ Time taken by policeman to catch the thief = $\frac{600}{\frac{100}{3}}=18$ minutes Hence, the correct answer is 18.
