Different colleges have different criterias for admissions in various courses, since you did not mentioned about the college so it is little bit difficult for me to guide you accordingly.

Some colleges conduct admission on the basis of merit list prepared on the basis of sum of 10+2 marks and entrance exam while some prepares there merit list solely on the basis of 10+2 marks and some colleges use to conduct their own entrance exam for admissions or prepare the merit list based on the marks scored in any national level entrance exam for particular course.
