After completing Diploma, if you want to go for a course then the best option would be an engineering course.Now for getting admission in engineering course you have various options like appearing for any state level or university level lateral entry exam to get admission in B.tech course.
And the more better option would be to appear in JEE mains and after clearing mains you will get a chance to appear in JEE advance and once you will clear advance, you will get admission in IITs.
If you don't want to purse any course then you can prepare for government exams like SSC JE or RRB technical entry for diploma graduates.

Do join degree after the poltechnic diploma,You can prove yourself at university by successfully completing a diploma . You can use your course units to enter into a bachelor degree once you have finished your diploma . ... Diplomas also have lower entry scores and often at non-government institutions, a year 12 certificate can be the most critical pre-requisite.

After Polytechnic, the students can go for lateral entry to the second year of B. Tech in the stream which they prefer. The candidate must have pursued 12th or Diploma from a recognised institute. The candidates can also go for a lateral entry admission to B.E. in the preferred stream of Engineering.
