After having an M.LIS ( Master of Library and Information Science) degree, would I be able to apply for the government jobs in which the eligibility criteria is a master degree? Because M.LIS is a one-year master degree course unlike convensional two year master course.

hi,

see there is lots of opportunity after completing master in library and information science, like you may work as a

  • Library Attendant,
  • Library Assistant,
  • Semi-Professional Assistant
  • Junior Librarian
  • Librarian/Chief Librarian
  • Researcher/Scientists/Application Specialist
  • Consultant/Reference Librarian
  • Cataloger/Records Manager
  • Senior Information Analyst
  • Junior Information Analyst

so you may see that there is lots of option available rather than government jobs. and most of the cases if any recruitment is going for masters courses there is also mention about stream criteria. once you get some experience I hope you will surely make progress in your career path.
