Hello,

AIIMS entrance exam is an exam particularly for AIIMS.

Neet entrance exam is the exam through which you get the passkey to get admission to all the medical colleges according to your rank.

Both are entrance exams to different institutes but both of them share the same portion and almost the same competition. However, to crack both, the formula remains the same.

Focus on ncert textbooks which are the gold standard.

Practice mcqs from any good book which has previous year question papers.

Work on time management.

All the best!

Dear aspirant, neet ug and Aiims are quite a bit different entrance exams for mbbs. By clearing Aiims you will get admission into Aiims and by clearing neet ug you may get admission in other medical colleges apart from aiims(depending on your rank)

Neha Sharma 20th Dec, 2017
First of all there is a difference between the institutions for which u are giving these exams .

Neet is for all the government and private colleges of India and aiims is for all the aiims across India .

Now let's see the difference in exam pattern :-

Neet has 180 questions , 45 from physics , 45 from chemistry and 90 from biology  all in 3hrs time .

But in aiims it's total 200 questions 3.5 hrs time , 60 questions from physics , 60 from chemistry , 60 from biology , 10 from mental ability and 10 from general knowledge . and 20 questions of assertion reason in each section .

Hii Sharwan, NEET UG entrance exam and AIIMS entrance exam are seperate entitis for the same mbbs course. If u write NEET UG u will be eligible to enter into the admission procedures of almost all the medical colleges in India except in AIIMS and JIPMER, for which u have to write their own seperate entrance exam...hope this clears ur doubt..all the bst!!
Mariam Ansar 20th Dec, 2017
The questions are based on the same subjects but AIIMS includes Assertion and Reasoning type questions. And this is what makes the examination critical. Along with it during our time we also had general knowledge questions (20 questions). This is thus a major component of the paper and to crack AIIMS you can't just depend on NCERT books. They ask very conceptual reasoning questions.
sapna katyal 20th Dec, 2017
The very first and most important difference is that thorugh aiims exam you would be eligible to take admission in any of the aiims depending upon rank obtained

Hi it's all basically same. Except the way questions are asked. Aiims is for admission into group of all india institute of medical sciences . And neet for all other medical colleges except jipmer. And aiims gives equal weight age for physics biology and chem 60 questions each. And also includes Gk for 20.  Whereas neet will emphasize more on biology for 360 marks and rest 180. No general knowledge asked. And neet is comparatively easier. But if you are strong in physics and chemistry. Aiims ll be better.
Nikita Chauhan 18th Dec, 2017
  • AIIMS-UG and NEET-UG are two different medicine entrance exams that offer admissions into various government medical colleges across the nation. While AIIMS-UG will offer you admission onto AIIMS DELHI and other sister institutions established in various cities of the nation, NEET-UG will offer you admission into 15% of the seats of government colleges of almost all the states of the nation except Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu - Kashmir.

  • Lately, many other deemed universities and government medical colleges like AFMC, BHU, AMU and the like have started conducting admissions based on NEET scores. There are no separate entrance examinations for the above mentioned institutions.

  • As of now, there are 3 major national level entrance examinations for admissions into government medical colleges, they are NEET-UG, AIIMS-UG and JIPMER-UG.
