Hello Ayantika ,

About the syllabus part its almost same for both AIIMS and NEET but general knowledge and aptitude and logical thinking are also included in AIIMS.

Apart from this, pattern of question paper also differ like in AIIMS there are 200 questions out of which 60 questions each of PCB and 10 each from GK and logistical thinking. Also apart from MCQs there are reason assertion type of problems asked in AIIMS that should be practiced in a sharp diligent manner to score high.

In case of NEET, there are 180 questions, 90 from biology and 45 each from physics and chemistry.

Hi A

Here are Some GOLDEN tips for the preparation of NEET

  • Firstly, gather all the details about the officially prescribed syllabus for the examination.
  • Make a proper time-table for your preparations.
  • Follow the time table strictly and increase your potential day by day.
  • Consider the good preparation books and study materials.
  • Practice mock test & previous year question papers.
  • Make mistakes while practising, and correct them and never repeat them.
  • Never give up even at your low time.
  • Stay stress free & healthy while preparing for exams.
  • Don’t try to include new topics at the end of preparations.

Study plan for AIIMS 2018:-

  • There are 20 questions based on general knowledge in AIIMS exam. For solving these, you can read newspapers and watch news everyday for an hour to have the best idea of the latest events happening in order to get along with the General Knowledge part in the AIIMS 2018 exam. Other most recommended GK books for AIIMS 2018 include General Knowledge Today and CSR magazines.
  • Begin with procuring the precise syllabus, study material and exam details. This forms the basis of your studies over the next two years.
  • Being a class XI student, you have the opportunity to streamline your preparations quite efficiently. Focus on the concepts right from the start and prepare notes simultaneously that will come handy during revisions.
  • Utilize the time to understand the concepts through NCERTs. Prepare flashcards for formulae and equations for Physics and Chemistry while make diagrams and flowcharts to understand Biology concepts. These methods help you immensely while memorizing lengthy concepts.
  • Once through with the concept, devote time for practice and problem solving. Practice as many sample papers as possible within the specified time to measure your knowledge and pace.
  • It is helpful to enrol in a competent coaching institute to strengthen you preparations. If you are preparing from home, solve questions on online learning portals. They provide mocks that will be extremely helpful in studying for AIIMS 2018.
  • If you stumble upon a doubt related to any of the topics make sure to get it answered. Take help from teachers, mentors or fellow students. Engage in constructive discussion with a community of peers and seniors.
  • Keep yourself in good health, stay positive during your preparation, and do not give in to anxiety and stress!

Hope this helps!!!

The syllabus is same for both the exams

But there is difference in the pattern of the two

In aiims you have assertion reasoning and general knowledge in addition .

Also my personal experience is that in aiims more of ncert is asked as compared to neet (though in both most are from ncert )

If you want to crack aiims , plz practice assertion reasoning . they are very important.

Otherwise books are same for both the exams .

And you can perpare for both the exams together.

All the very best

I hope it helps

Hii Ayantika, There is no seperate syllabus for AIIMS exams. The syllabus is same as that of NEET exam. The only difference is that their standard of questions are high and a reasonable  proportion of marks are alloted to assertion reasoning type qusetions. So inorder to crack AIIMS u have to practce assertion reason questions too. Also u should be strong in your General Knowledge.Hope this helps....all the bst !!

AIIMS never prescribe any particular syllabus but officially it has been mentioned that " The general standard of competitive entrance examination will be that of 12th class under the 10+2 scheme and intermediate science". So I would suggest you to focus more on NCERTs as these books would be giving you great help in your preparation. Apart from that, you can follow below provided general tips and reference books for NEET and AIIMS as well  -

First of all, complete your NCERT books as these will make every topic more relatable and easy to understand. Also, these books include fundamental principles and concepts of biology and provide accurate information. Apart from this, you can use below given reference books as well -

Biology -

Trueman’s Biology Vol. 1 & 2

Objective Biology by Dinesh

Pradeep Publication’s Biology

Prakash Objective Biology

GR Bathla Publications’ for Biology (Theory & Objective)

Phyics -

H C Verma for Physics

Aggarwals’ Concept of Competition Physics for CBSE PMT

NCERT Physics: CBSE PMT by Anil Aggarwal (Set of 3 Volumes)

General Knowledge - It would be better to read newspaper on daily basis just to get all day to day information and along with this, you can subscribe weekly or monthly current affairs magazine and pay proper attention to science section.

Good Luck!!!
