See,  most of the private companies don't hire through GATE.  GATE is only for public sector and for getting admission in Mtech.

But of course having a good GATE score always puts you in a lead of competitors.

Private companies focus on your skill and attitude.

Sometimes having a good GATE score may reduce your chance of getting into private companies because private companies need a long run employee and you have  a good GATE score they might think you are planning for higher education. So they may think you will leave the company after few days

There are various companies in India which will provide job on the basis of GATE entrance exam including all the PSU & Central Core Companies if you have qualified the GATE then you have the better chances to place in such companies as well coming to the point of Private Organisation so in that respective organisation in whichever you are applying for the job then in such cases you should produce your GATE valid score card & with that your chances for getting placed will be increased so it will be the plus point for the aspirant if he / she has qualified the GATE.
