Correct Answer: 16

Solution : The ratio of the rates of work of A : B = 2 : 1
Work = efficiency × time
Let the time B takes be $x$ days
A's work = 2 × 12 × 8
B's work = 1 × 12 × $x$
The total work is the same.
Thus, A's work = B's work
⇒ 2 × 12 × 8 = 1 × 12 × $x$
⇒ $x$ = 16 days
Hence, the correct answer is 16.
