As I am preparing for neet 2021 so is it right to have a look at social media just for refreshment for some time ?

What starts as a refreshment might soon turn to addiction because when it comes to social media. First you try checking out of curiosity what your friends are upto. Then you try comparing your life with theirs. And slowly it becomes an addiction. If you happen to read any exam topper's interview, he/she would stress on the importance of being away from social media. There is something called PATS Model in Psychology which the University of Toronto has published some time back.
Picking the Best Environment for you to study: This is important because you should feel secure and comfortable but not too comfortable where you might fall asleep.
Always reducing the visual distractions: Make sure you have nothing within your vicinity to distract you. Like keep your phone a side. Or sit away from the TV, Windows where you can see people.
Try to Eliminate Noise around you: If you are someone who can concentrate with music, make sure it is light music and nothing to distract you. It should increase your ability to concentrate and not distract you. If there is any noise that might distract you, use ear plugs or a fan. Trust me, if am being distracted by noise, I switch on the fan and it works.
Self talk to control Internal Distractions: When you are noticing that the mind is drifting aside, stop what you are upto and keep a checkmark on a piece of paper along with the time. Keep a track of these checkmarks and the timings. Talk to yourself that you understand you are being distracted but you also have to study. If it keeps bothering you, write down what is it that is bothering you and promise yourself that you will come back and look into that. Now that has been parked in the notebook, get back to studying
But if you can time your social media presence and strictly follow it, there should be no harm. To prepare for NEET, you can try our NEET Knockout package: https://learn.careers360.com/knockout-neet-may/
You can use social media even if you are preparing for Neet examination provided you don't get addicted to it, as social media can be a big distraction in your studies and preparation for Neet examination so you should try to avoid it as much as you can also if you use the social media to just refresh your mind don't use it for more than 20 to 30 minutes in a day.
To concentrate on studies and avoid wastage of time and keep yourself out of distractions like social media ,follow the below tips:-
*Don't keep your mobile near you while studying, as mobile is the biggest distraction while studying
*Make a routine, and try to give at least 8 hours or more to study , your routine should revolve around things i.e study, revise and practice . Routine will help you to eliminate procrastination
*Don't study a single subject for long hours as it makes you feel bored, keep changing the subject after every 2-3 hours
*Allow short breaks of 20 to 30 minutes in between your studies to refresh your mind
*You should practise at least 80 to 100 numericals and mcqs in Each chapter , practicing question helps your brain to be active other than reading only theory
*Solve previous year questions
*once you are done with the complete neet syllabus go through mock test papers .
Thankyou
