Hello! If you wish to take admission in B.Des program in any of the NIFT campus, first you should meet the eligibility criteria. If you have passed your class 12 from any recognized board/university you can apply for NIFT and you should not exceed the age of 23.

Once you meet the eligibility criteria for NIFT you can apply for the entrance exam (The exam is on 19 January as for this year). The NIFT entrance exam is divided into two rounds. In round one you have to give two exams which are  CAT(Creative Ability Test) and GAT(General Ability Test). Once you clear both these exams, you get qualified for Round 2 which is the Situation Test.

If you clear Round 2 as well then you will have the chance to get admission in one of the 16 campuses of NIFT across India.

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is one of the best public institute of fashion design, management and technology education in India.

Candidates must have successfully completed any of the following are eligible:

• The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education / State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi

• General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB)

• Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system

• A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects

• Candidates who are appearing for their Board examinations in 2020, can also apply, subject to fulfilling necessary eligibility conditions at the time of counselling/admission as mentioned in the Prospectus released by NIFT.

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) conducts the NIFT entrance exam in order to shortlist aspirants for admission in design (https://www.shiksha.com/design-chp) programmes offered by it. NIFT entrance exam is three-tiered in its format for BDes and MDes course admissions. As part of the NIFT entrance exam 2020 for BDes and MDes admissions , candidates need to first appear for Creative Ability Test (CAT) which is followed by a General Ability Test (GAT). The final admission round for BDes course is a Situation Test and that for MDes is GD/PI round.

Candidates are eligible to secure admission at NIFT on the basis of the ranks they secure in the entrance test. The steps that candidates need to follow in order to secure admission in  B.Des course are:

1. Fill NIFT application form (which is released at the month of October).
2. Download NIFT admit card.
3. Sit for NIFT entrance examination (at the month of January).
4. Check the result of the exam (Released around February/March).
5. Appear for NIFT Situation Test or GD/PI.
6. Check NIFT Entrance Exam Final Result.
7. Take part in NIFT Counselling.
