All about BAMS: Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is a course that one can pursue after completing Class 12 with science subjects. BAMS is based on the traditional art of healing in India; popularly known as Ayurveda. Ayurveda is the a branch of medical care which is based upon the concepts of natural healing processes of the human body which is further enhanced by therapy of Ayurveda. BAMS course is fast emerging as a supplement to modern medicine which provides a profound knowledge of Ashtanga Ayurveda along with scientific advances in modern medicine along with extensive practical training. Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM) is the statutory regulatory body which regulates the Ayurveda education at degree level as well as at postgraduate level and the practice of Ayurvedic medicine in India. The syllabus and curriculum of BAMS is uniform throughout the country and admission to BAMS is conducted only in Ayurvedic medical colleges affiliated to universities and only after getting permission from Dept. of AYUSH, Union Govt. Of India. Admission to BAMS course will be taken on the basis ofNEETscore and the corresponding rank.
