If Environmental Studies (EVS) is an additional subject in your BCA program and you're absent for the exam, it won't affect your main subjects' results. In most universities, additional or elective subjects are separate from your core curriculum, so missing this exam won't impact your main subject results.

Impact of Absence:

Main Subjects: Missing exams for core subjects will affect your results, but absence from the additional subject (like EVS) won’t.

Additional Subject: If you miss the EVS exam, you may need to take it in the next semester.

Mandatory or Optional: In some universities, passing additional subjects might not be mandatory, but it may count towards your overall score.

Check University Guidelines: University policies can vary, so it's a good idea to check the rules regarding additional subjects.

Suggestion: If you’re unsure, consult your department coordinator or the exam office to clarify any doubts.

Hello there,

If Environmental Studies (EVS) is an additional subject in your BCA program and you are absent for its exam, the impact depends on the rules of your university or college:

1. If EVS is mandatory to pass:

  • If passing EVS is required for graduation, you will have to pass the subject.
  • Being absent means you may need to take a supplementary exam or attempt it in the next semester .

    2. If EVS is not counted for grading or credits:

  • If the subject is a non-credit course and doesn’t affect your degree or grades, being absent might not cause any issues.

  • However, it’s better to complete it as it may be required for certification.

    What to do?

  • Contact your college/university examination department to confirm whether passing EVS is mandatory and what happens if you are absent.

  • If necessary, prepare to take the exam in the next available attempt.

Note: In most universities, EVS is essential for obtaining a degree. It’s advisable not to ignore it.

Nothing much you would be marked Absent in the final marksheet under additional subject of BCA result and the only compulsory subject would be counted. Based on your compulsory subject you would be declared pass or fail.

However, its better to give additional subject subject exam as you can get passing marks easily by putting in a little efforts. Absent mark might not be good to see in a marksheet.

If you want to take any job after BCA or pursuing higher degree then it might affect and it will impact your career.many big companies and universities does not prefer students having absent mark in their marksheet they will consider them non serious candidates.

Hope this is helpful to you
